The position is to be filled by December 12, 2022, The type of Contract will be a Consultancy Contract (Service Contract) The service location will be Beirut Lebanon. The position is paid according to SG5 [[paygrade]].
The Standard working hours for the MEAL Assistant are 50%; i.e. 20 hours a week on 5 days (on average). Working days are Monday till Friday.
Your responsibilities
The MEAL assistant will be in charge of supporting the monitoring of overall project activities throughout Lebanon (Bekaa, Hermel-Baalback, North); the project aims to support the vulnerable people, refuges and host communities with multi-sectoral components to ease their access to food, hygiene, and non-food items. The MEAL assistant will have a support role and reporting for the Senior MEAL Officer in the Lebanon office. The service contract to be Part-time 24 hours per week for the first 6 months (3 days per week), after that we can see the flow of work and review the needs of the position and check if it will remain part time position or become a full time.
The task of the MEAL assistant shall be:
- Undertake regular field visits to the activities implemented under the project in the different areas (Bekaa, Baalback-Hermel, North)
- Produce and submit field-reporting documentation after every monitoring activity with relevant MOVs
- Conduct KIIs, surveys, and FGDs
- Support in the collection and validation of activity- and output-level monitoring data during activity implementation.
- Assist the Senior MEAL Officer to ensure the databases are accurate representations of program performance across program activities
- Make sure that MEAL standards and tools are in place and being implemented at the field level while communicating any issues or in efficiencies to the Senior MEAL Officer in a timely and proactive manner
- Assist /ensure complaints and feedback are collected, recorded in the CRM database, reviewed timely, tracked, and following up with partners focal point on ensuring closure of any complaints / feedback received, while coordinating with WHH Accountability Officer to ensure appropriate reporting is done on the monthly accountability dashboard.
- Ensure that project means of verifications are available, filled on time, in line with partner monthly/quarterly reports and uploaded on ProMIS
- Ensuring capturing and recording lessons learnt and good practices.
- Assist the Senior MEAL Officer to keep the track of project’s indicators, data accuracy, and desegregation to ensure the project is implemented towards stated objectives and indicators.
- Support the Senior MEAL Officer in maintaining and updating M&E plans and systems.
- Report any case that occurs in the field that might be affected directly or indirectly to activities implemented in a timely manner.
- Any other requested duties by the line manager.
Your profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (A postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation, Agriculture, nutrition, rural development, food security, social science)
- Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year or more of professional experience in a similar position, in a non-profit organization.
- Skills/knowledge:
- Experience in conducting Key Informant Interviews/assessments
- Experience in using data collection tools such as Kobo toolbox, AkvoFlow, or Commcare.
- Detail oriented, able to organize and manage various files.
- Knowledge of common computer programs, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
- Good contextual knowledge of local community and social/cultural constraints, realities, and organizational relationships
- Develops high levels of credibility and accountability
- Data cleaning and Data visualization and analysis
- Experience in writing reports in English
- Social Skills Ability to network and work in a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and commit to deadlines
- Language Skills: English and Arabic required (written & spoken)
