Social Worker

Main Tasks:

  • Interview the new shelter residents by providing listening and counseling services
  • Fill the social file and maintain an effective communication tool and record of residents’ activities to ensure effective service delivery by documenting information/observations/impressions which may affect a client’s case plan
  • Follow GBV guiding principles of respect, confidentiality, safety/ security and non-discrimination while providing services
  • Take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of the beneficiaries
  • Comprehensive follow up of each case during her presence at the shelter until reintegration
  • Assess and assist with client personal needs e.g., hygiene, nutrition, medical, and/or emotional
  • Ensure that therapy, support group sessions and activities are held on regular basis for residents and their children
  • Refer cases to the lawyer for legal follow up when needed
  • Refer cases to the psychologist when needed
  • Conduct case conference for critical cases with other team members and stakeholders when needed 
  • Collaborate with embassies/consulates, recruitment agencies, General Security, police stations, employers, doctors to resolve the Migrants' problems
  • Ensure transportation and accompany beneficiaries to appointments, when deemed necessary and appropriate
  • Perform support tasks for other staff members when necessary 
  • Collaborate with other departments and centers
  • Update regularly the service mapping
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and strengthen referral networks
  • Reporting to management
  • Attending meetings, working groups and trainings if needed
  • Work occasionally on weekends or after the working hours for urgent cases or counseling
  • Receive emergency calls during weekends from the shelter
  • Report to the line manager in a timely manner with a high standard of accuracy.
  • Visit the main office in Dora when necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Social Work, Masters is a plus
  • Female Social Worker is a must.
  • 1-2 years of working experience in an NGO, iNGO is a plus
  • Fluency in English and Arabic. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
