JOB SUMMARY
The municipality support assistant is responsible for providing quality information, counseling and assistance to beneficiaries and, through this work, developing better understanding of the situation for the target communities. He will work on improving relationships between UNHCR and partner’s organizations with municipalities.
GENERAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Improve the communication with the municipalities and UNHCR
- Follow up on individual cases, answering enquiries, and also assist municipalities when needed in administrative tasks
- Work to strengthen UNHCR and partner’s relationship with refugees, refugee/host community leaders and municipal actors
- Continue to improve the quality of the information coming out to refugees/ municipalities
- Continue to communicate challenges faced and contextual analysis to UNHCR
- Analyze protection trends and needs
- Bring forward the needs of refugees to the relevant authorities and humanitarian community for a coordinated response
- Understand the practices between the renters and landlords and advocate for fair/ rights guaranteeing documentations between both parties (HLP)
- Report on major findings
- Attend UNHCR and partners information sessions and briefings

ACADEMIC EDUCATION
Bachelor in Political Science/International Affairs/Public Administration or other related fields.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
2 - 3 years of relevant work experience.
