- Main Tasks and Duties:
- Participate in the preparation of the section annual budget and submit to Pathology Chairman for review
- Keep up to date with new practices, when applicable, and assess any arising opportunities to enhance the Pathology department services
- Participate in preparing, quarterly, section KPIs and ensure implementation of corrective actions
- Prepare tissue specimens for cutting using microtome to obtain sections for mounting, stain sections with dye and mount on slides.
- Perform cutting and staining of all captured tissues
- Conduct random check-up on all equipment and ensure its proper functioning
- Ensure availability of all required materials in pathology department
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment for laboratory use
- Prepare purchasing request for all needed materials/ equipment
- Prepare all staining products and chemicals for use
- Performs frozen sections, special staining and immunohistochemistry techniques
- Ensure proper storage of paraffin blocks and slides, as per request and when needed
- Prepare cytology specimens for smearing and staining
- Assist in new personnel training
- Perform additional related duties as requested by Pathology chairman
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Biomedical Science
- Previous experience in the pathology would be a plus
- candidate must hold a License to practice (or passed the colloquium exam and applied for the license)
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 am till 4:00 pm.
