Youth Officer & Trainer

DESCRIPTION: 

MAIN DUTIES

Activity Coordination

  • Support the centers’ development in terms of activities and technological upgrading, in coordination with the center team.
  • Outreach to youth and encourage them to benefit from the center’s activities including workshops, campaigns, clubs, paid internships and other provided services.
  • Support youth to develop their capacities on the professional and interpersonal levels with a focus on digital skills and Vocational Training
  • Support the implementation of awareness-raising sessions and campaigns
  • Support the implementation of Psycho-Social Support Program Components, in coordination with the PSS team.

Training

  • Support and deliver employability and entrepreneurship skills training workshops following a preset curriculum
  • Support and deliver Robotics, App Development, and Technology-based training workshops
  • Support and deliver Vocational Training workshops in a field of his/her expertise.
  • Deliver life skills training
  • Contribute to enhancing and developing the current workshops with new ideas, tools and techniques.

Administration

  • Support the centers’ development in terms of activities and technological upgrading
  • Handle and follow up on all administrative work related to the center including the development of action plans, reporting (monthly and quarterly), and expenditure management
  • Support, handle and follow up on all logistics work related to the center including required maintenance and office supplies among others
  • Facilitate the implementation of project-related training workshops for staff and volunteers
  • Support project internal monitoring and evaluation processes
  • Participate in project meetings and UN coordination meetings/working groups at the field level and provide regular feedback
  • Support correspondence with partners, in cooperation with the Programmes Coordinator…
  • Represents ARCPA in related events
  • Performs other job-related tasks as requested by the supervisor

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Technical

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, electronics engineering or equivalent degree
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of Arduino microcontrollers, electronics, sensors, actuators, and wiring circuits.
  • Knowledge in developing mobile applications using MIT App Inventor
  • Ability to design and implement robotics, IOT, and electronics projects using Arduino and MIT App Inventor
  • Knowledge in entrepreneurship and employability skills such as business plans, SWOT analysis, interview skills, and others.
  • Understanding of the most-in-demand vocational training workshops based on the current market needs.

  • Fluent in Arabic and English
  • Coaching and mentorship skills
  • Team player with the ability to deliver information to different age groups
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • A positive character that can provide inspiration for youth

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The incumbent is required to work 6 days a week
  • Working hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the winter season and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the summer season
  • Preference will be given to those residing in Wadi El-Zeini or surrounding areas and to males
