Logdriver application – SWAM Akkar

General Purpose of the position: The logistician/driver provides projects with the required supplies and materials to ensure that they are implanted according to the action plan developed in the ongoing projects managed by COOPI. He/she also drive staff and visitors to and from the Country Office/projects. This position is based in Tripoli with frequent travels to Akkar area.

I- LOGISTICS

The Logistician/Driver is responsible for handling Logistics and procurement issues related to the project, including the office premises:

• Arranges for transportation (of project’s staff and visitors).
• Maintains all Office and guest house equipment and furniture.
• Ensures regular rent, utilities payments (electricity, water, gas, etc.) and running costs are paid
• Purchases office supplies and cleaning products.
• Responsible for keys of the office and guest house and any other project keys.
• Follows up on purchase requests from the office and projects.

a. Contacts

• Helps and supports the Project Managers to purchase and to find suppliers.
• Compile and maintain an established supplier list
• Follows the organization’s Procurement Policy.
• Provides and files all the required quotations and documents.

b.  Reception and delivery

• Ensures that supplies and goods are obtained at the best possible prices. 
• Ensures and surveys transportation for delivery goods.
• Prepares accurate and timely reports on stock / inventory

c.  Administration

• Maintains a proper filing of all documents (hard and soft) and a proper database of procurement documents.
• Prepares a weekly calendar of trips, travels, and movements of project’s staff.
• Fills in the cashbook and prima nota files according to the purchases done for the project.

II- DRIVING

• Ensures the safe and efficient transport of staff/materials/goods
• Picks up, when requested by the Project Managers and/or HoM, guests from the airport.
• Based in Tripoli with frequent travels to Akkar area.
• Travels to/from Akkar and Tripoli, and eventually to other regions where COOPI works, following the direction of the Project Managers.
• Delivers purchases and/or money transfers.
• Handles a proper car logbook.
• Respects Lebanon driving rules and regulations in order to ensure his/her safety and the safety of the staff when travelling with him/her.  

4. Car Maintenance

Provides all the required supplies and goods to ensure car fleet maintenance, as well invoices, vouchers, quotations and other documents to the Project Manager, related with service vehicles as well as abiding by the organization’s Car Policy.

*Ensures prompt execution of other tasks which are within the ambit of a Logistician and Driver which may be requested by the Project Manager as needs occur.

Qualifications & Competencies

• Sensitivity towards, and strong commitment for, environmental protection
• Degree or diploma in business administration or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in logistics and experience as a driver.
• Previous experience with NGO is an asset.
• Valid driving license with at least 2 years of driving an automatic vehicle.
• Good written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Computer Literate: Microsoft Excel and Word

• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Strong ability to organize work and to meet deadlines.
• Proven punctuality and ability to work as part of a team and excellent references a must.
