Junior Accountant

  • Prepare and maintain agreements and contracts
  • Ensure that all reporting is completed on time and submitted to the finance department
  • Verify and prepare payments and ensure compliance with Marsa’s policies, and donor regulations
  • Ensure all payments are made in a timely manner
  • Manage invoices, income, expenses and funds for the projects
  • Maintain cash receipts, vendor invoices, bank statements and other records of account as archives
  • Reconcile on a monthly basis the projects' bank account with their bank statements
  • Conduct a weekly and monthly cash count
  • Obtain approvals from the finance department and from the donors on all procurement and purchases for projects
  • Assist with the implementation of program costs
  • Assist in issuing donor reports by reviewing the financial transaction on a monthly basis
  • Prepare the needed financial document for the auditor
  • Coordinate with the internal and external auditors during audits and prepare financial audit requests
  • Attend relevant meetings with partners when necessary

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position
  • A minimum of 1 year working in non-profit organizations
  • Proficiency in MS Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Good communication skills, detail oriented and team player
  • Good organization and time management skills
