- Role and responsibilities
The ICT Assistant provides technical support to all NRC staff, helps develop and implement ICT standards and policies, and provides technology support and solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The ICT Assistant will help in the implementation and management of the software applications and hardware infrastructure that support NRC operations.
Generic responsibilities:
- Identify problems in the area of own activities.
- Provide basic assistance, information and/or training to staff on department’s policies and procedures.
- Adhere to NRC policies, guidance, procedures and the Global ICT Strategy.
- Deliver timely and high quality ICT hardware, software and services to the country programme.
- Maintain Internet and network connectivity in NRC’s offices.
- Ensure all NRC systems are fully compliant with information security requirements and data privacy standards.
- Test new equipment and applications and provide thorough feedback.
- Ensure that NRC’s related activities are implemented within NRC’s Protection Mainstreaming guidelines and report any breaches/concerns to the line manager and/or focal point for proper action.
Specific responsibilities:
- Install and maintain operating systems and user applications.
- Perform routine support tasks including, but not limited to: resolving windows problems, formatting, outlook setup, managing access to systems, cabling, etc.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wired and wireless networks infrastructure.
- Connect users to the Wi-Fi network and troubleshoot their network connectivity issues.
- Keep log of the office computers and their users.
- Connect\troubleshoot printers and peripheral devices.
- Track printers’ consumables and paper consumption.
- Install and monitor the antivirus software.
- Manage the internal landline phone connectivity at the office.
- Prepare laptops for new users.
- Support ICT staff in other offices when needed.
- Schedule software upgrades and patches proactively.
- Ensure that all software on NRC computers and networking equipment is licensed.
- Introduce new staff to NRC systems using the ICT induction guidelines.

Professional Competencies:
- Bachelor degree in IT, Computer Science, CCE, or relevant computer domain
- 1 – 2 year of experience in Information Technology
- Proficiency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken
