Teacher Supervisor (Casual Worker) - Hermel Area

Main Responsibilities:
 The Supervisor will attend all WV trainings and capacity building sessions including monthly teachers learning circles (TLCs)

 Attend and participate in weekly reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality education, referrals, and reporting requirements, are followed

 Record attendance and follow up closely on children who dropped out or are at the risk of dropping out and keep a record of the follow-up actions taken

 Identify and refer child protection and child safeguarding cases and threats following World Vision policies and mechanisms

 Collect data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are, filled

 Ensure all project means of verifications (MOV) including registration sheets, attendance sheets, evaluation documents etc. are in place

 Design lesson plans for retention sessions

 Follow up and monitoring of lesson plans for retention sessions

 Facilitate the retention support sessions and provide children (Grade 1 till 9) with individualized homework support in all the subjects that they need help with, especially the major subject of the Lebanese curriculum (Arabic language, foreign language, mathematics, science)

 Conduct and document diagnostic and summative assessments for children registered in retention programs (pre/post test)

 Conduct formative assessments for children during implementation period to track improvement and adjust the support in a timely and individualized manner

 Ensure safe, secure (physical and emotional), simulative and inclusive child-centered classes to meet the abilities and the needs of the children (including children with disabilities)

 Deliver psychosocial support (PSS) and art sessions for children once per week

 Conduct regular meetings with caregivers to clarify the objectives of the project, follow up on children improvement and agree on their contributions and appropriate ways to support children’s learning at home in order to ensure sustainability and commitment

 Support in registration for selected children on the system

 Maintain positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with students, colleagues, supervisors and other WV staff

 Respect and commit to WV’s internal policies and procedure including Child Safe Guarding, code of conduct, dressing code…
 

Minimum requirements:

 Bachelor degree in education and social development related field (Mathematics, Arabic Literature, French/English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, psychology, sociology, social sciences/humanities, specialized education or social animation) or LT in education

 Previous experience with children from 6 to 14 years old

 Capable of dealing with children who have experienced war distress

 Ability to work under pressure

 Knowledge in using social media applications.
