Job Purpose: The social worker is directly in charge of carrying out psychosocial support activities for project participants in order to maintain or improve their well-being and grow their capacity for peaceful dispute resolution. Additionally, he or she will recognize the participants' requirements and direct them to the proper services.
Major Activities:
- Conduct psychosocial support and awareness sessions for participants targeted by the project in the area of implementation;
- Hold briefing sessions to explain the project's roles and responsibilities, participants' rights, fair working conditions, accountability, and referral mechanisms.
- Work with participants and empower them to identify their needs, rights, and responsibilities. S/he will help them plan what they want to achieve and take appropriate action, as well as develop activities and services to generate aspiration and confidence.
- Conduct two sessions per month for each group of women from cooperatives and women with home-based businesses on topics such as team building, accepting people for who they are regardless of their background, PSS components like non-violent communication skills, stress management, and anger management skills, working together for a common objective, resolving conflict in peaceful ways, and supporting one another.
- Assess, mitigate, and report on protection risks encountered during the implementation of the project by specifying the risks and implications for participants.
- Provision of protection guidance to participants through individual/group sessions
- Report on individual / Household protection and non-protection issues identified and referred to during project activities.
- Share information on Key protection messages, PSEA, rights, and protection services available to participants both within B&Z and through external partners and agencies.
- Proactively and consistently review the safety and security of CFW participants while they are working on project-related tasks.
- Writing monthly reports that include referral reports, awareness sessions, and psychosocial support.
- Networking with humanitarian organizations, institutions, societies, and others to support participants to obtain the required service inside and outside the community center.
- Other duties as assigned by the project manager are to support participants and enable and develop B&Z programs.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Working within the principles of the Code of Conduct.
- Ensuring that participants have access to the appropriate service.
- Ensuring that the Foundation’s team interacts with participants within the principles of the B&Z, especially preserving dignity and avoiding psychological harm.
- Achieving the required number of participants at the end of the program while ensuring the quality of work.
- Ensure that a safe environment is provided for the project participants.
- Create positive communication with the team.
Education & Experience:
- University degree in sociology, psychology, human rights, social sciences, or a related field.
- Work experience of not less than two years in the field of psychosocial support
- Experience working with organizations
- Participate in training courses and workshops on protection (child labor, domestic violence, and SGBV, etc. …)
