Life Skills officer

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conducting workshops on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, communication skills, anger management, parenting skills, etc.
  • Developing lesson plans for classes that incorporate topics such as conflict resolution, communication skills, time management, and leadership skills
  • Conducting seminars to promote health and wellness within communities
  • Creating and managing curriculum for classes that cover topics such as parenting skills, conflict resolution, and peer pressure prevention
  • Conducting one-on-one sessions with students who are struggling with specific issues
  • Preparing reports on student progress and attendance at each session
  • Conducting workshops in schools or community settings to promote positive behavior among children and teens
  • Leading groups of children in activities such as arts and crafts projects, field trips, games, and other activities
  • Creating teaching materials such as lesson plans, handouts, and visual aids

Job Requirements:

Academic Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in Sociology, Children Psychology, Education or any other related field.

Professional Experience

  • At least one-year recent related experience
  • Worked in humanitarian settings, specifically in Child Protection or GBV sectors

Skills

  • Experience in collaborating with various community groups
  • A strong commitment to the philosophy of people with disabilities living and working in the community
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team setting, with an emphasis on leadership,
  • Self-initiative, patience, creativity, maturity and tact
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated teaching and coaching ability

Others

  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with people of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to-detail.
