Field Coordinator

General Objectives and tasks:

1. Support in the business development of the agro-food innovation unit:

  • Define and outreach for potential new clients/suppliers.
  • Support the research and project design unit in new project conception related to the agro-food sector.
  • Coordinate on funded projects in relation with the agro-food unit.
  • Connect with different involved stakeholders and potential partners in the catchment area defined by the program for the innovation hub (research institute, universities, private companies, other NGO’s, CSO’s, CBO’s...).
  • Report continuously to the agriculture program in order to keep the program in the agro-food sector up to date with the real needs of the sector.

 

2. Production management of the center’s agro-food unit:

  • Establish the production plan over one year.
  • Place orders for the purchase of raw materials.
  • Liaise with the accounting department for project purchases and sales (invoicing, receipts / disbursements ...).
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of the unit budget and action plan with the program management.
  • Monitor the various stages of production on a daily basis (check the proper functioning of the machines, identify production problems, etc.) and request technical support from the program management.
  • Communicate this project internally and externally in coordination with the marketing department and integrating it into the program communication.
  • Draft procedures and capitalization of all the work done under the agro-food unit.

 

3. Research and development:

  • Define research and development choices according to the needs of the market.
  • Conceive new products and improve current production.
  • Participate in feasibility and briefing meetings.
  • Support, present and ensure legitimacy, relevance and feasibility of the research choices.
  • Carry out, if necessary, specific research on the properties of an ingredient in order to check its compliance with the specifications.
  • Optimize existing ranges and coordinate with the marketing department for the products.
  • Offer substitute products and constantly improve existing formulas.
  • Legal research regarding agro-food regulations and existing organization of the sector.
  • Support entrepreneurs and facilitate round tables around innovation and entrepreneurship at Damour agro-food innovation hub.

 

4. Stock Management:

  • Manage stock and inventory which include purchase of equipment and tools required for daily operations as well as raw material.
  • Keep records and documentation as well as update all the information.
  • Document and record all sales transactions.

 

5. Assist in the coordination of training:

  • Identify training and development needs.
  • Design and expand training and development programs based on the needs.
  • Monitor and review the progress of trainees through questionnaires and discussions with the farmers and agro food processors.
  • Ensure that statutory training requirements are met.

 

6. Project implementation and coordination:

  • Support the Program Manager and the Project Manager in implementing activities and monitoring the progress of the project in the unit.
  • Conduct field visits to comply with project activities and procedures and prepare reports on field visits.
  • Assist in the implementation of the M&E plan and data collection.
  • Facilitate field coordination of assistance to identified beneficiaries.
  • Ensure that all support-related interventions are in compliance with arcenciel and donor international norms and standards, national laws and policies, technical standards and organizational policies;
  • Provide logistical support to facilitate the implementation of the project.
  • Facilitate communication flows between key actors.

 

7. Outreach, coordination and follow up activities:

  • Reach out for beneficiaries for the Agriculture Program across Damour region.
  • Reach out to associations and institutions in Lebanon.
  • Conduct field visits and interviews for data collection, outreach, and assessments.
  • Create and classify files of each case.
  • Promote and ensure their attendance to the sessions/trainings held, while tracking attendance records.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the center’s staff and the external partners of the association.
  • Organize sessions/trainings for the beneficiaries and make sure all the related parties are well informed and present at the sessions.

 

8. Documentation and reports:

  • Write a report (Weekly/Monthly) about the activities conducted along with its related documentation (pictures, attending sheets etc.).
  • Ensure project documents are properly filed, archived and secured.

Working Schedule: Monday till Friday; From 09:00 AM till 05:00 PM.

Contract Type: 1 year (Renewable depending on funding and performance).
