World Learning – QITABI 2: Call for SEL Trainer

USAID’s “Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement” (QITABI 2) is a five-year program seeking to improve learning outcomes for all students in public primary schools in Lebanon. Its activity targets an estimated 200,000 girls and boys, including those who are registered in second shifts of public schools.

World Learning has a vacancy for a short-term Consultancy named “SEL Trainer" for the USAID- funded Quality Instruction towards Access and Basic Education Improvement (QITABI 2) in Lebanon.
This position is for a Lebanese national.

Scope and Responsibilities:
The “SEL Trainer” will be working in close coordination with QITABI-2 SEL Specialist:
• Aligning preparation of materials using the National SEL framework as a point of reference
• Involvement in planning, conducting, and delivering training of trainers
• Provide technical inputs to design, execute, and monitor progress of the trainings
• Ensure organization of comprehensive training modules/content
• Training methodology and trainers’ approaches will be designed considering sensitivity, respect and consideration for all learner needs and different audiences ranging from official government staff/personnel, school administration, teachers, coordinators from both public and private sector
• Providing inputs for the determination of the selection criteria for trainees
• Work effectively and in collaboration with other team members in QITABI 2, to ensure the smooth implementation of all trainings and other activities defined within the scope of the work
• Perform additional tasks as needed and requested by SEL Specialist/Senior Management.

Required Qualifications:
• A minimum of an MA degree in the field of education or relevant field e.g., psychology, social work, pedagogy, counseling.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant training experience with diverse audiences in the field of education.
• Solid understanding of social and emotional learning, human development, child development, contextual factors impacting development, holistic learning approach….
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Fluency in Arabic, and English is highly desired.
• Ability to work under pressure
