AAP & PSEA Officer

JOB TITLE: Accountability  to Affected Population & Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Officer

LOCATION: Beirut based with regular travel to Mount Lebanon, North (T5 and Akkar), Bekaa (North, West and Central), and South

 

ORGANIZATION PURPOSE:

ABAAD aims at achieving gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD has a proven record in working in addressing GBV in emergency settings.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

The AAP& PSEA Officer is responsible for supporting in ensuring that mechanisms at ABAAD are being implemented across all programs to fulfill ABAAD’s AAP & PSEA standards, especially in regards to information sharing, beneficiaries’ participation, and complaints and response mechanism. The AAP & PSEA Officer will support the AAP & PSEA Coordinator in mainstreaming accountability and PSEA standards across the organization, in particular towards the affected population that ABAAD is serving.

 

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Ensure feedback is received regularly from the field offices through various channels (WhatsApp, Emails, Hotline, Feedback Forms, etc.) and is entered promptly into the database.
  • Maintain overview of and/or coordinate the implementation of the accountability/PSEA work plan by accountability/PSEA focal points and other ABAAD and partner staff.
  • Monitor, evaluate and support implementation of accountability & PSEA initiatives & practices across Lebanon.
  • Review, process and analyze entered data and identify significant issues of concern.
  • Support in conducting training sessions for staff on the Feedback & Complaint mechanism, principles of accountability and PSEA.
  • Gather beneficiary feedback (including focus group discussions, individual interviews, etc.) regarding the way in which complaints and feedback is collected, as well as the best means of follow-up.
  • Enhance community engagement through community participation and information sharing as well as contributing to establishing an effective system that can feed back into projects design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Support the development of gender- and age-sensitive awareness materials on the complaint mechanisms in place.
  • Conducting field visits on regular basis for consultation, monitoring and follow-up purposes
  • Support on providing guidance to staff on the compliance with accountability and PSEA standards (especially on field level)
  • Ensure adequate information sharing across all catchment areas.
  • Any other task as assigned by the line supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A BA/BS in social sciences or other relevant fields
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to human rights and gender equality
  • Knowledge of quality and accountability initiatives, codes of conduct, principles and standards commonly used in the aid sector
  • A Flexible pro-active attitude
  • Ability to work well as an individual and in a team
  • Ability to manage an unpredictable workload in a challenging environment
  • Ability to work across socio-cultural and religious contexts
  • A belief in ABAAD’s mission and vision
  • A respect for ABAAD Code of Conduct and its PSEA Policy
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English. French is a plus
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office
