Wadi Khaled Outreach Worker (short term daily work)

Context

Founded in 1994, La Chaîne de l’Espoir (CDE) is an international NGO headquartered in Paris, France. Its mission is to strengthen healthcare systems and provide to everyone, especially children, equal chances and opportunities of survival and development.

CDE is currently active in twenty-seven (27) countries with a global approach, mainly focusing on children, mothers and disadvantaged communities. Find our activities briefly elaborated as follows:

Prevention and screening from an early age, particularly through school health programs.

Care and surgery to meet the most urgent needs of children and their mothers.

Training and transfer of skills to local teams (capacity building) thanks to our international network of experts in all areas of surgery.

Construction and equipment of hospital facilities adapted to local needs.

In Lebanon, CDE is currently implementing one project on Congenital Orthopedic Disorders. The project includes several aspects such as the strengthening of the healthcare system, early detection of congenital orthopedics disorders, psychosocial support, etc..
The project team is currently preparing for an awareness campaing and an early detection campaign in the area of Wadi Khaled and is looking for the support of a local outreach worker.

Main responsibilities

Under the management of the Program Officer, the outreach Worker is the front-liner in raising awareness about La Chaîne de l'Espoir (CDE) project in his/her area and in the pre- identification of vulnerable individuals who may be eligible to CDE project . S/he works in close collaboration with the Social Worker-PSS and the other members of the Program team.

Tasks

Map to identify the vulnerable population areas in the region.

Identify and map associations, local authorities, community influencers, mayors, refugee camp officers etc... in the outreach area.

Visit municipalities, NGOs, and key stakeholders in the region to promote the project, explain the activities implemented and get their support for outreach.

Visit Key stakeholders in the region and share the flyer and other communication tools of the project.

Report daily to the Program officer.

Requirements

Knowledge of Wadi Khaled area and its context: mandatory

2 years of outreach experience: prefered

Previous experience in the social work sector: a plus

Experience in multicultural context: a plus

Experience with NGOs, and refugees: a plus

Access to a vehicle (costs reimbursed): mandatory
