  1. Tasks and Responsibilities

 

  1. Implementation:

 

Under the regular supervision of the head of the center and in line with Mouvement Social outreach strategy, the community outreach worker will be responsible of:

Based on the Child protection criteria, identifying relevant areas and communities to outreach children from, in collaboration with the PSS, the head of center and the project coordinators.  

Identifying and networking with influential community leaders to foster acceptance and community participation in the program.

Building a trustworthy relationship with community members, open days for community members to see the activities offered at your safe space/center, general discussions about topics suggested by the community.

Mapping available services in the area of coverage.

Identifying potential beneficiaries to the relevant project’s programs as per the criteria set.

Introducing Mouvement Social services to parents/caregivers and other members of the community.

Referring children / youth to relevant services available at Mouvement Social centers and around (e.g. health services, other PSS services, etc.);

Orienting the beneficiaries to the implemented services in the area, when requested
 

  1. Documentation:

Registering the child / youth within Mouvement Social’s program upon obtaining the informed consent by parents/caregivers and from the child himself/herself, and following the program’s registration process and forms as well as abiding rigorously by the program’s confidentiality standards.

  1. Reporting:

Writing weekly outreach report to the project coordinators and head of centers indicating the number of cases referred to Mouvement social services.

Providing feedback to the project coordinators and head of centers on challenges, solutions, recommendations on outreach practices.  

  1. Other:

Participating in individual and group supervision regularly conducted by project coordinators and head of centers

Attending trainings and capacity building opportunities

  1. Requirements:

Technical diploma or degree in social work, social science, pedagogy, psychology or other related fields (mandatory);

1-2 years of experience in outreaching

Experience in delivering awareness-raising sessions (mandatory);

Proficient in Word and excel (mandatory);

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic (mandatory), Good English speaking and writing; 

Working experience in NGO (preferable);

Experience in working in emergencies (preferable);

Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoying working in the field, working with people of all ages and social groups, strong interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility, high integrity in social interactions, excellent communication, negotiation skills, skilled at working with local communities and authorities;

  1. Required qualifications
  • Technical diploma or degree in social work, social science, pedagogy, psychology or other related fields (mandatory);
  • 1-2 years of experience in outreaching
  • Experience in delivering awareness-raising sessions (mandatory);
  • Proficient in Word and excel (mandatory);
  • Working experience in NGO (preferable);
  • Experience in working in emergencies (preferable);
  • Excellent written English and Arabic, French is an asset;
  • Good interpersonal skills, influencing skills and cross-cultural sensitivity;
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Strong networking and coordination skills,
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills,
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

 

  1. Supervision

The Outreach worker will work under the supervision of the head of center.

  1. Working hours

The outreach worker will work five days a week, 8 hours per day.
