Graphic Designer for Technical Factsheets

BACKGROUND

Mada seeks a qualified Graphic Designer to work on the design of agroecology education/awareness factsheets template, support the update the factsheets on a quarterly basis (5 total), and support the collection of quotations and samples.

JOB SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer will:

  • Work on the generic design for a template for factsheets in line with Mada’s visual identity and other visibility material. Propose 2-3 designs to Mada until a final one is agreed upon. The template would have to be in an easy format that can be handed over to Mada’s team to populate on a quarterly basis.
  • Train a Mada team member on the update of the factsheet and use of the template.
  • Support the update of the template 5 times (along 1.5 years as it is quarterly basis) with new content (text and visuals). The trained Mada team member would send the updated template to the Designer for fine tuning.
  • Lead on collection of 3 quotations from printing companies and check on samples with Mada before printing the first factsheet.

DELIVERABLES

  • Generic template for factsheet (due first week of June 2023) - 1 pager; A4; Back and Forth English and Arabic Versions; in an easily updatable format.
  • Training of one Mada staff on updating of the factsheet using the template.
  • Fine-tuning of 5 populated factsheets by Mada using the template on a quarterly basis (end of June 2023; mid-September 2023; mid-December 2023; mid-March 2024; mid-June 2024).
  • 3 printing quotations and samples for the first factsheet (June 2023).

Disclaimer: the template is the property of Mada and will have to be handed over in a modifiable format.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree or Technical Degree in Graphic Designing
  • Strong practical background in graphic design, including the use of design software such as Adobe Design Premium, In-Design, CorelDraw, web design tools such as Dreamweaver and Flash, etc.
  • Show a clear and mature style of design, demonstrating an understanding of the communication requirements of Mada
  • Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and colour management
  • Knowledge of standard software packages, including MS Office– MS Access–MS Visio – Adobe Acrobat;
  • Working experience in development or humanitarian environment is desirable
