Job Purpose: Provision of on-field assistance in business development services to 47 SMEs, nano and social enterprises in Shatila camp in accordance to their needs.
Major Activities:
- Conduct a needs assessment of the 47 identified SMEs, nano, and social enterprises. The consultant will be required to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment of the enterprises, focusing on their organizational and management structure, marketing strategies, financial management, responsiveness to market needs. The consultant will be expected to identify key strengths and weaknesses of the enterprises, and provide specific recommendations for improvement in each area
- Develop tailored business development plans. Based on the findings of the needs assessment, the consultant will be responsible for developing tailored business development plans for each of the 47 targeted enterprises. The plans should include specific recommendations and timelines for implementation, and should address key areas such as organizational and management restructuring, marketing and branding, financial management, and production process improvement.
- Provide technical assistance to the targeted enterprises in the implementation of the business development plans, including Business and Marketing skills and strategies, Stabilization and growth strategies, Budget forecasting, Risk identification and mitigation measures, environmentally sustainable productivity enhancement technologies and systems, Quality control, Research and product development, Linkages with other networks.
- Conduct on field coaching sessions to the targeted enterprises: The consultant will be required to provide training and mentoring to the enterprises’ members on various business-related topics such as record-keeping, financial planning and management, market analysis, and branding. The consultant should ensure that the training and coaching sessions are tailored to the specific needs of each enterprise.
- Support the preparation of a list of all the requested equipment to proceed with procurement and delivery of the equipment.
- Monitor the progress of the enterprises in the implementation of the business development plans through field visits and provide regular feedback and guidance.
- Conduct post assessments for the targeted enterprises with different timeframes depending on the recovery plan for each enterprise.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders involved in the project, including the project manager, and other consultants, to ensure the effective implementation of the project.
- Continuous follow-up reports are required from the Business coach documenting the effectiveness of all business training and technical assistance given.

Each enterprise must have a portfolio with the above steps that include the following:
- Detailed Pre-Assessment
- Detailed Business/Recovery Plan
- Detailed Work Plan and Technical Assistance/Training
- Follow-up Reports
- Detailed Post-Assessment
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, economics, or project management.
- At least 8 years of experience in providing business development services to SMEs, Nano, and social enterprises.
