Business Development Officer - Beirut

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Identify and map MSMEs and cooperatives within the targeted areas.
  • Conduct assessments of MSMEs and cooperatives to identify their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Identify areas for improvement and developing a comprehensive business plan to enhance business performance.
  • Provide guidance and support in implementing business plans effectively.
  • Facilitate connections between targeted MSMEs and cooperatives and project s stakeholders, such as farmers and dairy processors.
  • Identify training needs of MSMEs and cooperatives and develop tailored training programs to address those needs.
  • Supervise the delivery of training and equipment to the MSMEs and cooperatives. 
  • Assist in developing relevant tools for MSMEs and cooperatives support: selection tools, assessment tools, follow-up tools, etc.  
  • Ensure relevant documentation is properly filled in and processed.
  • Maintain a high level of collaboration and coordination with all project staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism while working or coordinating with the people we serve, farmers, and any internal or external party; any incident or work-related conflict should be immediately reported to the Program Manager and Coordinators in relevant areas. The Job holder should avoid going into any work-related communication which might jeopardize the relationship of RI with any party. 
  • The job holder should demonstrate a high level of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, politeness and objectivity when dealing with the people we serve and all internal/external parties under all circumstances. 

 

 

Direct reporting, dotted line work coordination and external coordination

  • The Job Holder reports directly to the Livelihoods Program Coordinator;
  • Under the supervision of Livelihoods Program Coordinator, the job holder will have a dotted-line work coordination with MEAL Department, and Livelihoods project officer and Field Officers in remaining localities in order to ensure that tasks are being implemented in alignment with the needed work plans and deliverables.

The Job holder reports directly to the Livelihoods Program Coordinator.

 

Span of control and decision making

The Job holder should take decisions related to the accountabilities and tasks outlined above while coordinating directly with the Livelihoods Program Manager and Coordinator in all areas. Any decision beyond her/his realm or responsibility should be discussed with the Program Coordinator and Program Manager.

 

Working Conditions / Operating Environment

The job holder will be part of the team members who will be located at the Beirut Office. However, frequent field visits across Lebanon is an integral part of the job -description. The job holder will have frequent travel to North, Beqaa, and South's offices based on the Program Coordinator’ requests.
