SRH Advisor

Background:
MdM aims to improve access and quality SRH service provision at health facilities (Primary health care center (PHCC), Midwifery clinics) and through Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) in line with MoPH standards.

Job Purpose:

The SRH Advisor will be responsible for the provision of technical guidance and supervision of Mobile Medical Unit running under CDCS-funded project specifically to  SRHR activities as defined and in accordance with established protocols and procedures in all MdM area of intervention. The SRH Advisor will coordinate with colleagues at Medecins du Monde, partners , supported health facilities and MMU to ensure the operational roll-out of SRH intervention strategy, build capacity, technical support, quality of treatment and relevance of SRH activities, practices and information.

 

The position is based in Al Qaa  with field visits to other project sites of MdM.
The SRH Advisor will be under the management of MdM Medical Coordinator.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Advise and monitor the quality of SRHR activities of MMU of Al Qaa PHCC  
  • Create and disseminate tools, guidelines and training and awareness-raising materials
  • Provide coaching support for community volunteers providing awareness on SRH and other related topics
  • Lead training and coaching on SRH based on capacity and needs
  • Support the strengthening of GBV identification and safe referral as part of the SRH activities
  • Participate in any survey, evaluation and assessment as requested by the Medical Coordinator
  • Provide technical supervision, capacity building and support for MMU
  • Participate in identifying barriers for all persons, especially the most at risk, to access SRH services and identify actions to overcome them
  • Work with Pharmacy advisor on follow up of SRH drugs request, stock and management system to ensure that drugs are available and provided by the Project are appropriately stored and managed;
  • Be the technical representative of MdM on SRH with authorities and, supported facilities
  • Make recommendations and proposals to modify and adapt SRH activities and identify opportunities to develop new activities, in collaboration with the Medical Coordinator and Gender Coordinator
  • Reporting:
  • Work with the field team to ensure recordings and completeness of SRH data as per grant and reporting requirements.
  • Documentation of recommendations, SOP and training materials
  • Expected profile:
  • Midwife BS
  • Master’s in Public Health/Reproductive Health will be an asset
  • At least 3 years’ experience working on SRH
  • Core knowledge of SRH
  • Fluent command of written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Working knowledge of the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon policies and protocols
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to take initiative within a defined framework
  • Flexible and creative
  • Able to work under stress
  • Strong commitment to work, the organization and its value
  • Write activity reports, capitalization reports, summaries, etc.

Desirable Experience:
Experience working with an NGO is preferable, with a similar role and in clinical setting will be an asset
