Community Volunteers (1 based in Arsal and 2 based in Central Bekaa)

Job Announcement:

Terre des hommes - Foundation (Lausanne) is seeking 3 qualified Community Volunteers (1 based in Arsal and 2 based in Central Bekaa) for one of its Leading Projects “We Girls, We Can DO Anything: Specialized Child Marriage Response in Lebanon”.

In local context, the Community Volunteer will be responsible to conduct Arts and Crafts – Self-defense – life and soft skills sessions within PRM project through:

Developing the materials to be used in the training module and implement the agenda agreed upon with the project team. The volunteers should be able to assist adolescent girls acquire the skills theoretically and support them in the practical work.

The volunteers are required to have the following skills:

  • The ability to visualize things in three dimensions
  • Handmade creations and Art as well as craft
  • Good communication skills to explain the ideas clearly and persuasively
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • Follow through the CSP and PSEA ethical obligations

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the identification and coordination of outreach events and activities including community events related to prevention, social behavioral change, networking meetings to help connect the community with CP/GBV services for both external and internal community members.
  • Assist the peer-to-peer mobilization and enhance the protection of the target group.
  • Work closely with Tdh’s Community Mobilizers to receive technical support and guidance.

Location/Travel: Bekaa Area (Arsal and Central Bekaa)

                                                                             Community Volunteer for Tdh Lebanon

Project Title: “We Girls, We Can DO Anything: Specialized Child Marriage Response in Lebanon”

Duration: 15.09.2022 - 31.08.2023.

 Donor: Bureau for Population, Refugees and Migration BPRM

Purpose:

Scope of work

The volunteers (10 volunteers) will be responsible to conduct Arts and Crafts – Self-defense – life and soft skills sessions within PRM project through:

Developing the materials to be used in the training module and implement the agenda agreed upon with the project team. The volunteers should be able to assist adolescent girls acquire the skills theoretically and support them in the practical work. The volunteers are required to have the following skills:

The ability to visualize things in three dimensions

Handmade creations and Art as well as craft

Good communication skills to explain the ideas clearly and persuasively

The ability to meet deadlines

Follow through the CSP and PSEA ethical obligations

Expected Deliverables/Plan and Timeframe:

At the end of the sessions the participants shall be able to identify all skills and tips.

The volunteers shall provide the sessions to adolescent girls in BML and Bekaa.

Each group is expected to receive 6 sessions over two months (one session per week). A total of 12 hours per group, 2 hours per session.

locations: SDCs and Mobile unit/ safe space in BML and Bekaa

The volunteers shall be responsible for the following deliverables:

Sessions Cycle Syllabus and timetable and timesheet

Final Appraisal at the end of the training cycle.

Terms of Payment:

Total number of sessions: 20 sessions/month.  

Rate per session: $10

Total amount paid per month: $200. The payment will be made by envelope or Money Transfer through OMT. A timesheet will be submitted by the volunteer to the project team leader on a monthly basis.

Mandatory induction trainings are done at the beginning of the recruitment. The time spent during the training will be paid.

Period of ToR:  15.10.2022 to 31.08.2023.

Reporting: The provider of services shall report to the TDH team leader- project manager.

10 Community Volunteers: These persons will be community members, supporting the identification and coordination of outreach events and activities including community events related to prevention, social behavioral change, networking meetings to help connect the community with CP/GBV services for both external and internal community members. The community outreach volunteers will assist the peer-to-peer mobilization and enhance the protection of the target group. The community outreach volunteers are based in the community and will work closely with Tdh’s Community Mobilizers and will receive technical support and guidance.
