Facilitator

Target: Community at large, particularly: non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private sector/public and in-between, marginalized groups (women, people with special needs, etc.), refugees, representatives of government institutions, local councils, and syndicates.

These workshops will focus on:

-           The importance of mobilizing local resources to ensure more sustainability.

-           The importance of stimulating community participation in SEs.

-           The importance of working on community cohesion and representation of marginalized groups, and their influence on the SEs impact.

-           Coming up with practical recommendations so that these SEs are more sensitive to the societal context in each area.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Attending preparatory meetings with the COSV Facilitation Coordinator (CFC);
  • Designing the material, agenda, tools, presentations, assignments, and activities in coordination with the CFC;
  • Providing all the material needed for the training sessions, including for example PowerPoint slides, handouts, etc.
  • Deliver proper facilitation for two workshops (three days each) in the selected area;
  • Ensuring objectives and modules are made clear and participative engagement is supported;
  • Writing a detailed learning workshop report, including description of content and approach and data on participants’ assessments of effectiveness of the training;

Person specification:

 

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, business management, or political science required;
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following training topics: local resource management, local development, social economy, community capital, and community cohesion; 
  • Interactive training experience for five years;
  • Proven skills of interactive facilitation based on extracting and framing collecting knowledge from the participants;
  • Experience working at community level;
  • Experience in co-facilitation with other facilitators;
  • Good understanding of the socio-economic context of the selected areas in Lebanon;
  • Ability to work in a diverse cultural context;
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills (in Arabic and English);
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  • Commitment to and understanding of COSV standards and values;
  • Familiarity with ownership-development strategies;
  • Ability to comply strictly with deadlines and work promptly;
  • Ability to move around the entire Lebanese area;
