Driver

Main objectives

Under the supervision of the Support officer, he/she is in charge of driving MdM vehicles according to MdM procedures.

Hierarchical and functional links

The Driver reports hierarchically to the support officer and functionally to the Logistic Supervisor - Bekaa.

Main responsibilities

• Driving MdM vehicles & transport MdM staff and material as per the given schedules
• Respect road regulations as well as MdM procedures with regard to the speed limit and behaviour at checkpoints
• Ensure all passengers respect security rules in the vehicles (seat belts fastened, no smoking, …)
• Fill in properly the logbook (movement, fuel refill, maintenance)
• Ensure all materials transported in the vehicle are properly loaded and secured
• During duty, remain on active standby within close distance of the vehicle
• Immediately report any traffic accident involving the vehicle, an issue with authorities, or general information about the road condition to the supervisor.

Passenger safety and security of transported materials/equipment

• Adapting his/her behavior and driving to assure passengers' security, MDM equipment, and the rest of the road/street users (drivers, pedestrians, etc.).
• Always drive according to the Lebanon circulation code and respect speed limits
• Always wearing the safety belt/seat belt while driving and ensuring all passengers do the same
• Ensuring having a valid driving license and always having it ready for any eventual inspection
• Ensuring that all necessary documents are valid and renewed before the expiration date (insurance of the car, maps of Lebanon, workmen’s compensation, list of hospital, discharge of liability, first aid kits, etc.).
• Ensure minimum tools are in the vehicle and report to the logistics officer the missing tools.  
• Ensure waiver of liability signed with passengers who are not MDM employees. 
• Report to the Logistic supervisor and Field Coordinator any security accident.

Maintenance of the vehicle

• Checking on a regular basis the vehicle's motor, oil level, breaks liquid, air pressure of wheels, windshield liquid, etc.
• Alerting direct supervisor in case of technical problems or need for maintenance
• Organizing or if possible, carrying out any necessary maintenance after validation by the direct supervisor
• Ensuring the vehicle is clean on the inside and outside
• Ensuring all necessary equipment and material is present in the vehicle and in good condition (tools, spare wheel, airlift, belts, ropes, etc.)
• Refilling the fuel tank each time the tank is at ½ of its capacity

 Other duties/responsibilities:

• Report any security-related issues to the supervisor or to the Field Coordinator.  
• Supporting operational organization of field trips and MdM programs/activities
• Supporting at the stock when required.
• Load/unload from MDM when it is needed.

Assist the Support Officer in any other tasks that may not be described in the job description and yet may participate in the achievement of the settled objectives within the individual action plan.
