1. Project Background

The Lebanon Community Support Program (CSP) is a multi-year project funded by USAID to support municipalities and underserved and vulnerable communities in providing better services and enhanced economic opportunities to improve lives and reduce tensions that contribute to conflict and violence, primarily in Lebanon’s North, South, and Beqaa regions. CSP is further receiving Conflict and Violence Prevention (CVP) funding to amplify the impact of its community support assistance interventions and increase social cohesion to peaceably resolve conflict through people-to-people (P2P) collaboration.

2.  Summary of Position

The Program and Communications Coordinator coordinates relationships with key stakeholders to design and implement effective people-to-people activities focused on conflict and violence prevention, in addition to delivering quality and timely writing deliverables under CSP’s Task Order No. 2 (TO2).

3.  Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates closely with Regional Program Managers (RPMs), field officers, and CSP’s community engagement partners on progress and developments related to interventions implemented through CVP fund.
  • Coordinates with CSP’s local partners and service providers engaged in CVP activities and helps them remove barriers to activity implementation.
  • Follows up on administrative tasks and ensures donor compliance for CVP-funded activities.
  • Conducts regular site visits to report on activity progress.
  • Responsible for writing reporting and outreach materials for TO 2’s core Community Support interventions, as well as CVP-funded activities. These include weekly, quarterly, and annual reports, weekly highlights, success stories, and generating impactful content for CSP’s online channels.
  • Supports the planning and conducting of VIP visits and activity ceremonies/events.
  • Assists RPMs and other CSP staff in scheduling and facilitating meetings with past, current, and prospective partners. Writes minutes of meetings and activity visit reports.
  • Monitors and gives updates on evolving situations in the field as it relates to program implementation.

4.  Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree required (preferably in business, program management, and/or communication, or any other related field).
  • At least two years of professional experience in the international development sector.
  • Experience in program design, implementation, oversight, communication, and monitoring preferred.
  • Strong business writing and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and networking skills.
  • Proven experience fostering effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including local government, community-based organizations, and the private sector.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Fluency in spoken Arabic and English language required.

 5.  Place of Assignment

The Program and Communications Coordinator will be based in the CSP’s main office in Beirut and will be expected to travel to the project across North, South and Beqaa regions where CSP has activities under implementation.

 6.  Reporting

The Program and Communications Coordinator will report directly to the P2P Program Manager, or equivalent.
