Senior Agriculture Manager

In 2022, CWB, under its agriculture program, produced 15 million seedlings at break-even cost supplied for farmers in North-East Baalbeck. It strengthened Oregano value chain in the targeted area and established the ground to start offering grafting service. It developed a 5-years strategy to introduce climate smart livelihoods and support the development of SMEs with a special focus on women and youth. CWB is looking to hire a Senior agriculture Manager to be part of its agriculture team and lead the implementation of its agriculture program strategy.

Under this position, the Senior Agriculture Manager will provide technical assistance and guidance to the agriculture team, farmers, and other local beneficiaries.

The Senior Agriculture Manager will be primarily responsible of the following activities:

• Provide technical assistance to and the supervision of the agriculture team
• Develop an outreach strategy for CWB agriculture program
• Design and implement services for the promotion of climate smart crops in North-East Baalbeck

• Maintain an updated stock and develop yearly forecast for CWB agriculture services   
• Lease with food processors to develop contract farming with farmers in the region by planting the requested crops/varieties and providing technical assistance
• Guide the development of a capacity building program for small farmers in North-east Baalbeck
• Develop clusters for climate smart selected crops in the targeted region to improve the social capital
• Conduct rapid value chain assessment for main crops to identify gaps and seek corrective actions by developing project ideas

• Facilitate communication and coordination between site agriculture manager, farmers, and other local beneficiaries.

• Perform extensive research on best agricultural practices falling under Nursery practices scope and develop and propose strategies and tools to be adopted for the improvement of seedlings production process and staff productivity.

• Monitor, evaluate and report on the efficiency of the agriculture projects

• Control the efficiency of the implemented demo plots and production units

• Provide technical specifications and participate in procurement of agricultural equipment and tools when needed.
• Work with the financial manager to develop a pricing strategy taking into consideration the volatility of the Lebanese currency

• Relocate or face a longer commute as and when required.
