Caregiver’s Facilitator (Unlock Literacy) - Casual Worker/Tripoli

Job Summary:

The aim of this job is to outreach and target caregivers with Unlock Literacy Caregivers Group Sessions to equip them with simple tasks through everyday activities that promote children’s reading skills and language development. These activities are used to build children’s learning of letters, sounds and words, and contribute to the development of their knowledge of the world around them.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend all WV trainings and capacity building/coaching sessions including education (Unlock Literacy), child protection (Core concepts, safe identification and referral, PSS), Child Safeguarding, gender equality and social inclusion, accountability and information management
  • Attend and participate in reporting and planning meetings to ensure adherence to standards of care, quality education, referrals, and reporting requirements, are followed
  • Conduct community outreach to identify caregivers of girls and boys aged between 6 and 9 years who are interested in attending the caregiver’s sessions, with the support of local organizations in the area and project coordinator.
  • Register caregivers using World Vision data collection and registration tools.
  • Prepare for the UL caregivers sessions following the facilitator guide
  • Facilitate the UL caregivers sessions for caregivers of children aged 6 to 9  years old.
  • Participate and collaborate in other activities (recreational, psychosocial, awareness and non-formal education) when needed
  • Record attendance of caregivers using hard and soft tools, follow up closely on absenteeism and those who dropped out or are at the risk of dropping out and keep a record of the follow-up actions taken
  • Attend and actively participate in monthly Facilitator learning circles (FLCs)
  • Identify and refer child protection cases following World Vision policies and mechanismsy
  • File in the Referral Tracking sheet on a monthly basis
  • Report child safeguarding cases and threats following World Vision policies
  • Ensure all project means of verifications (MOV) including attendance sheets, minutes of meetings, and evaluation documents are in place.
  • Ensure weekly reporting are taking place while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Respect and commit to WV’s internal policies and procedure including Child Safe Guarding, code of conduct, dressing code…

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Facilitators are required to attend Unlock Literacy UL) Training before they start leading CG Sessions.
  • Facilitators are required to read the full Caregiver Sessions Manual prior to leading CG Sessions.
  • Facilitators must be able to read fluently, expressively, and with full comprehension.
  • Facilitators should live within the communities they serve.
  • Previous experience with caregivers and children from 6 to 9 years old.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge in using social media applications.
  • Knowledge in using MS-Word / MS-Excel – Intermediate Level
