Marketing Workshop – DAWERR Incubation Program

Context & Background

 

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Eco-system in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and the company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.  

This Incubation Program is a program  designed and managed by  BERYTECH under the DAWERR Activity, a 5-year Activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the goal to establish sustainable and replicable integrated solid waste diversion and valorization solutions in rural areas of Lebanon.  

Under DAWERR program, BERYTECH will provide business and technical assistance and other needs to support 6 incubated startup teams in validating their business idea and sharpening their business model and GTM strategy.

Phase I is a three-month validation program. The program focuses on validating and improving their product and develop/refine their marketing plan and GTM strategy .

 

Scope of work

The DAWERR Incubation Program seeks a Marketing Consultant to help startups develop their marketing plan and positioning/pricing. The scope of work includes the following:

 

1st Workshop: Positioning & Pricing

  1. Brand Positioning and Differentiation:
  • Importance of brand positioning in creating a distinct market presence.
  • Strategies to differentiate from competitors and create a unique brand identity.
  • Practical tips for maintaining brand consistency across different touchpoints.

 

  1. Pricing Strategies and Models:
  • Overview of various pricing models, such as cost-plus, value-based, and competitive pricing.
  • Understanding the pros and cons of different pricing strategies.

 

  1. Monitoring and Iterating Pricing:
  • Importance of data-driven decision-making in pricing.
  • Identifying key pricing metrics and analytics.
  • Strategies for iterating and adjusting pricing based on market feedback.

 

The workshop will be conducted in an interactive format, encouraging active participation and engagement from the startup founders. It is expected to provide practical insights, real-life examples from the waste sector, group exercises and enable participants to apply the concepts directly to their own startup ventures.

 

Workshop Details

  • Workshop length is of 3-5 hours to be delivered in-person
  • Sessions are expected to be highly interactive, customized to the profile of the startups and the waste sector

 

2nd Workshop: Marketing

 

Objective: To help the startups develop a well-structured marketing plan, understand various marketing strategies, and learn how to utilize marketing channels effectively to promote their waste management solutions.

 

  • The importance of a well-defined marketing plan for startups.
  • Building an Effective Marketing Strategy
  • Setting clear marketing objectives and goals for the startup.
  • Choosing the right marketing channels to reach the target audience.
  • Developing a multi-channel marketing strategy for maximum impact.

 

Digital Marketing and Online Presence

  • Creating and optimizing a professional online presence (website, social media, etc.).
  • Strategies for engaging with customers and building an online community.

 

Content Marketing for Waste Management Solutions

  • Understanding the power of content marketing in the waste management industry.
  • Creating valuable and relevant content that educates and attracts customers.

 

Marketing Budget and Resource Allocation

  • Allocating resources effectively for marketing initiatives.
  • Developing a marketing budget that aligns with the startup's goals.
  • Identifying cost-effective marketing strategies for startups with limited budgets.
  • Providing actionable insights and tips on leveraging digital marketing tools and channels for maximum impact.
  • Addressing any questions or challenges related to marketing faced by the startups during the workshop.

Expected Deliverables

 

Key Deliverables:

  • PowerPoint Presentation for the workshop
    1. Sessions

Following the marketing workshop, the expert is expected to hold a 1-1 meeting with each of the 6 startups to provide tailored feedback to their marketing plan and 2 sessions with each of the 6 startups to provide feedback on their positioning/ pricing strategy.

Expert trainers will be selected based on:

  • The proposal and its fit to the program’s objectives.
  • Expert bio, proven track records and experience in the required field
  • Budget scope
