Sales and Marketing Expert- Société Robert Jabbour - Food System Challenge –

Berytech is seeking to hire consultants that will be able to assist in the entry to market, sales and marketing strategy for the products to Societe Robert Jabbour as per the scope of the interventions mentioned below. Societe Robert Jabbour is an industrial food company located in Zgharta, manufacturing of a wide range of traditional Lebanese products such as olive oil, olives, pickles, jams, pomegranate molasses, orange blossom water, vinegars and others.  

Scope of work and Deliverables

The Consultant is expected to fulfill the following in addition to any other task required:

  1. Problem Identification and Market Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify the problem that the product or service solves.
    • Analyze the target market, customer segments, and their pain points.
    • Identify market trends, competition, and potential opportunities for differentiation.
  2. Target Market and Customer Personas:
    • Define the target market and customer personas based on demographic, psychographic, and behavioral characteristics.
    • Develop a deep understanding of the target audience's needs, preferences, and buying behavior.
  3. Value Proposition and Differentiation:
    • Clarify the value proposition of the product or service, highlighting the unique selling points and competitive advantages.
    • Develop messaging and positioning strategies to effectively communicate the value proposition to the target market.
  4. Marketing Channels and Tactics:
    • Identify and recommend appropriate marketing channels and tactics to reach the target market.
    • Develop a comprehensive marketing plan, including digital marketing, content marketing, social media, advertising, PR, and events.
  5. Pricing and Packaging:
    • Set pricing strategies based on market analysis, cost considerations, and value proposition.
    • Determine packaging options and pricing tiers that align with customer needs and maximize profitability.
  6. Sales and Support Alignment:
    • Ensure alignment between the sales and support teams in understanding the value proposition and customer needs.
    • Provide training and resources to support the sales team in effectively communicating the value proposition and addressing customer concerns.
  7. Company Goals and Metrics:
    • Establish measurable goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with the go-to-market strategy.
    • Develop a framework for tracking and evaluating the success of the strategy and making necessary adjustments.

Deliverables:

  1. Market Analysis and Problem Identification Report:
    • A comprehensive report presenting the findings of market research, problem identification, and market analysis.
  2. Target Market and Customer Personas Document:
    • Document outlining the target market characteristics, customer personas, and their pain points.
  3. Value Proposition and Differentiation Strategy:
    • A strategy document clearly defining the value proposition and differentiation strategies.
  4. Marketing Channels and Tactics Plan:
    • A comprehensive marketing plan detailing the recommended marketing channels and tactics to reach the target market.
  5. Pricing and Packaging Recommendations:
    • Pricing strategies and packaging options aligned with market analysis, cost considerations, and value proposition.
  6. Sales and Support Alignment Guidelines:
    • Guidelines and resources to ensure alignment between sales and support teams in understanding and communicating the value proposition.
  7. Company Goals and Metrics Framework:
    • A framework for establishing goals, KPIs, and metrics to track the success of the go-to-market strategy.

The consultant will provide these deliverables within the specified intervention period after working closely with the company in developing a go-to-market strategy.

As part of the program’s Monitoring and Evaluation (ME&L) processes, the consultant is required to:

  • Deliver a briefing report to the program’s team.
  • Attending check-ins short meetings, if needed and required by the program’s team
  • Attending MEL induction meeting before the beginning of the session if requested by the program’s team
  • Conducting pre-post assessment, feedback and attendance as requested by the program team

  Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, MSc Degree in marketing, business administration, communications, economics, entrepreneurship, and international business and any other relevant field. 
  • At least 15 years of experience in quality control and food safety positions.
  • Excellent communications and report writing skills.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic

How to Apply

The selected Consultant is expected to start his/her activities at the soonest after selection; the exact timeline and effective working days are to be set based on both the company’s and the Consultant’s availability not exceeding the end of November 2023. The total budget allocated for the intervention is within the range of USD 300/man-day.

Candidates should submit the following documents:

  • Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in section: “Scope of Work, Outputs, and Deliverables” elaborating it further.
  • Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs shall be included as annex) along with project references on the topic.
  • Financial Proposal describing the expected renumeration and the proposed timeline and Days of intervention.
