Project Coordinator - Re-Advertised

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Lead the development and implementation of SAMS health support projects
  • Work closely with the senior management and project team to develop project strategies and work plans
  • Oversee and support project team and activities on a daily basis, and ensure minimum standards for participants’ protection are maintained
  • Meet with partner (mainly hospital) focal points and managers to agree on guidelines for patient processing and protection, sign MoUs, and address possible challenges
  • Lead regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges faced, proposed action plans, etc.
  • Periodically review the monitoring and evaluation systems for secondary healthcare programming, in collaboration with MEAL team, including the development of MEAL tools and methodology, management of reporting mechanisms and information flow, and analysis of program data and impact
  • Continuously identify program gaps, areas of growth, and strategies and support in adapting program design to effectively meet the beneficiaries’ needs
  • Lead the preparation and compilation of monthly and quarterly reporting in collaboration with the MEAL Team and Medical Coordinator, and ensure relevant documentations are up to standards and fulfill the technical requirements in accordance to donors’ requirements
  • Report to the Program Director monthly on quantitative and qualitative progress, serious issues of concern and team spirit. Report immediately any urgent need of support or serious matters of concern.
  • Manage relevant project budget and support project team in ensuring expenditures are in accordance with the budget
  • Coordinate with Finance Department for finance tracking matters, invoices revision, and challenges that may arise throughout the processing of payments
  • Coordinate between different programs and projects to ensure proper collaboration and SAMS Lebanon projects are complimentary and in synergy
  • Participate in the development of policy briefs, research, advocacy materials and lessons learned.

Partnerships and Grants Support

  • Maintain working partnerships and good communication with representatives of the Health Sector and other sectors, MoPH and other ministries, CBOs, PHCs, municipalities, local community groups, etc.
  • Represent SAMS in the Health and other Working Groups and coordination meetings as required.
  • Liaise with the SAMS senior management team, regional office and headquarters as needed
  • Assist field teams in the identification and selection of partners with the view to support more strategic partnerships at SAMS
  • Assist in drafting project proposals or relevant fundraising activities.

Human Resources and Capacity Building

  • In collaboration with the HR & Admin Officer, identify staffing needs and ensure that appropriate staff for the project are recruited
  • Supervise and coach new members & develop personal monitoring plans for each member in collaboration with senior staff
  • Ensure that all of SAMS personnel and stakeholders are complying with SAMS code of conduct, PSEA, and protection policies.

Desired Education and Essential Skills

  • University/Baccalaureate degree in Public Health, Business Management, or other related fields
  • Three to four years of relevant work experience in project management - preferably with international NGOs and/or community-based organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including drafting project proposals and reports
  • Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, partner institutions including international and local NGOs, governmental entities, support organizations, and the general public
  • A multi-tasker with strong ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to maintain a rapid and demanding pace of work
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail
  • Prior experience with primary, secondary, or tertiary healthcare, with mental health and psychosocial support, gender-based violence, and/or medical education programs is desired, but not required.
