Water management Consultant

In the framework of a European Union project with SOLIDARITES International, the Rene Moawad Foundation is seeking a consultant to create materials on water management and water accountability, with a focus on enhancing the quality of informative, engaging, and actionable resources. The goal is to promote responsible water usage and elevate water management practices to a higher standard.

Position Summary

The consultant will play a vital role in the "Partnership for Community Engagement" project, implemented by the Rene Moawad Foundation and SOLIDARITES International. The primary objective of this role is to develop materials on water management and water accountability.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage Stakeholders: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including established local committees in Akkar, RMF and SI communication focal points to gather feedback and ensure that the materials meet the needs.
  • Content Creation: Create well-structured and easily understandable content for the materials. Use clear language, concise explanations, and provide visual aids to make the content engaging and accessible.
  • Water Conservation Tips: Develop a list of practical water conservation tips for different settings, such as homes, businesses, and industries. Include simple actions that individuals and organizations can take to reduce water wastage.
  • Educational Outreach: conduct training of trainers for the community support members to disseminate the developed materials and provide guidance on effective water management practices.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A strong background in water management, or a related field is essential. The consultant should have a comprehensive understanding of water resource management, water conservation techniques, and current water-related challenges.
  • Familiarity with local, regional, and national water policies, regulations, and environmental laws is crucial. This knowledge will ensure that the materials developed align with existing frameworks and encourage compliance with relevant regulations.
  • The consultant should have prior experience in developing educational materials and presenting complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner for various target audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • An understanding of environmental issues and sustainable practices is important, as the consultant should incorporate strategies to promote water conservation and environmental protection.
