Communication and Reporting Officer

Main Tasks:

  • Develop a communication strategy,
  • Ensure effective communication,
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a communication and visibility plan to facilitate better understanding among partners and government about Tabitha as an organization and program progress,
  • Undertake field visits to gather the information and results related to the programs,
  • Develop visibility material such as leaflets, monthly newsletter, website updates, share stories with HQ and donors for special events,
  • Work on advocacy points,
  • Support program staff in organizing and managing seminars, workshops, press conferences, and field visits as required,
  • Collect and synthesize data from the field, and draft the necessary reports,
  • Collect and draft various success stories for the program from the field,
  • Draft other ad hoc qualitative reports on specific project areas, as requested by the Country Director,
  • Update and maintain information on all donor and program reporting requirements,
  • Support Field Office during donors, media, and other high-level missions to the field, in collaboration with other project staff.
  • Organize events and workshops as seen necessary for the project,
  • Undertake field visits in Syria and in Lebanon,
  • With input from the field staff and program officers, produce high-quality program progress reports as per donors and Tabitha requirements,
  • Provide editing and formatting for all program-related documents,
  • Provide relevant expert services to programs and to implementing partners on reporting and communications and act as a facilitator or trainer;
  • Provide thorough progress reporting continuous analysis of the achievements, facilitate project review, evaluation, and audits,
  • Attend sector working groups in Lebanon or in Syria,
  • Attend coordination meetings,
  • Ability to move to Syria,
  • Perform other activities as necessary and assigned by the Country director

Application Submission Guidelines
  • S/he should have experience in communication and diffusion strategies and techniques, reporting, documentation, publication, and audio-visual material preparation in relation to conservation and development fields.
  • S/he should possess excellent writing, editing, and speaking skills in both English and Arabic.
  • S/he should be well-versed in the latest electronic publishing and graphics methods.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate a high level of motivation and good communication, social, and interpersonal skills
  • S/he must be well versed in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Arabic language typing.
  • S/he must be fluent in both spoken and written Arabic and English languages.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the NGO sector;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic;
  • Strong analytical, communication, time-management, and leadership skills, must be reliable and have a high personal integrity level;
  • Adherence to the mission and vision of Dorcas;
  • Reflect the vision and values of Dorcas with team members, local staff, beneficiaries, and external contacts.
