Inclusion Officer -Upon Donor Validation

Mission:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, and in close collaboration with the Inclusion Techncial Officer, the Inclusion Officer is responsible for carrying out technical support to Project partners and stakeholders to become more inclusive.

Line managed by: Project Manager

Functionally reports to: Project Manager

Interacts with:

- Internally: Inclusion Technical Officer, Country Manager, Operations Manager, project team, Regional Technical Unit, MEAL Unit, support services staff.

- Externally: Partner organizations supported throughout the framework of the project, the authorities in the project area of implementation, other stakeholders including local organizations, INGOs, and UN agencies in the area of implementation, Protection working groups, and disability coordination networks.

Missions / Responsibilities

Responsibility 1: support the implementation of project activities.

  • Conduct an inclusion assessment for the organizations targeted by the project, and provide action plans accordingly;
  • support, coaching and follow-up to the organizations targeted by the project, actors, and stakeholders during the implementation of the following activities:
  • Provide capacity building (training and coaching) to partners and stakeholders on disability inclusion under the guidance of the inclusion TO.
  • Identify with the project team most appropriate modalities of intervention and related tool and based on monitoring outputs and teams’ feedback, adjust/adapt the tools.
  • With the MEAL Officer and the inclusion TO support, contribute to the development of research/ survey terms of reference, protocol, and related tools in close collaboration with the project team.
  • Contribute with the team to the data collection as per the protocol defined, proceed with data analysis, and the production of report.
  • Directly carry out the following activities:
  • Conduct inclusion assessments using different data collection modalities, tools and techniques (KAP surveys, key informant interviews, focus group discussions…) and cross-analyze the findings to develop a report showing gaps, challenges and good practices towards disability inclusion.
  • Provide a Non-Technical accessibility assessment for partner’s centers and develop reports accordingly.
  • Follow up, coach and support other Local and International partners implementing their Inclusive Action Plan.
  • Provide coaching support to the partners team during tools use (including field coaching).
  • Participate in sector working groups and provide them with support on disability inclusion in collaboration with the inclusion TO and Inclusion Specialist. 

Responsibility 2:  Responsible for the animation and the communication of its sector of expertise

  • Ensure training and skills development are delivered in respect to safety and security rules.
  • Supervises and regulates the group dynamics face to face, and remotely (practice analysis, community of practice, peer-to-peer exchanges).
  • Ensure the dissemination of content and communication to stakeholders (Trainees, managers, sponsors,)

Responsibility 3: Responsible for monitoring and evaluating, Lessons Learning and reporting activities within the project scope

  • Ensure a technical and pedagogical watch to the sector of expertise/ sector of intervention.
  • Assess the impact of trainings or development action. Skills that have been designed (satisfaction, achievements, changes in practices)
  • Ensure the follow up of the trainee (action plan, exchanges with managers, Evaluation, follow up on the job, link with mentoring and coaching system,)
  • Ensure formalizing all recommendations to follow up further skills development of the audience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced degree in social sciences, PMT, OT or any other related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience the inclusion field as Officer
  • Previous experience in protection and more specifically in disability mainstreaming
  • Skills in developing training and providing coaching for capacity building
  • Good monitoring and reporting skills
  • Animation and/or design of training...
  • Management of training actions and skills development

Basic salary for the position:  The Inclusion Officer position is going to be paid according to HI salary Grid. Basic Salary range : Starting 1700  USD.
