Market Access and Linkage Officer

1. Purpose

CARE International in Lebanon (CiL) is part of a regional response to the Syrian Crisis to meet the immediate and most urgent needs of those who have fled Syria and provide support to local vulnerable host populations. CARE’s programs are also designed to meet longer term needs. Working with partners in WASH, Shelter, Protection, Livelihoods and economic opportunities in the North, South, Beirut, and Mount Lebanon Governorates CARE has a special emphasis on working with women and girls.

CARE International in Lebanon is anticipating starting the implementing of a capacity building and livelihood community-based agriculture project that seeks to address critical capacity gaps along targeted value chains at both the individual, communal and institutional levels This position is responsible for the full Implementation of a CARE International project based in that spans over the North, Mt. Lebanon, and the South.

4. Specific Duties and Responsibilities

•Feasibility Study: Conducting a feasibility study for in-kind support for the current project participants who are set to receive assistance in next phases of the project.

•Needs Assessment Tool: Developing and revising a needs assessment tool to identify the requirements of individuals, cooperatives, and MSMEs.

•Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with various stakeholders, including the project team, partner organizations, and participants, to facilitate project implementation.

•Training Material Development: Creating training materials, SOPs, and tools for financial literacy and Business Development Services training sessions.

•Market Research: Conducting market assessments to identify new products in demand and potential market opportunities.

•Reporting: Providing regular updates, progress reports, and data analysis to project management and donors.

•Capacity Building: Working with local partners to improve their capacity to deliver high-quality Business development services and monitoring their progress and outputs.

•Compliance: Ensuring all activities align with donor agreements and CARE guidelines.

•Project Sustainability: Developing strategies for project expansion and long-term sustainability.

 

a. Skills & knowledge:

•Fluency/working proficiency in both English and Arabic (written and verbal).

•Outstanding organizer

•Strong team player and experienced collaborator

•Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

•Ability to work under pressure

•Commitment, devotion, and integrity

•Solution-oriented.

b. Experience:

At least  3-5  years of relevant technical experience, especially at NGOs, academic organizations, standard-setting bodies, public agencies focused on Livelihoods and Food Security projects.

c. Academic background:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Marketing and sales,business law with a major in Economics and a minor in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

d. Languages: English and/ or Arabic are the working language of CARE International in Lebanon.

Knowledge of other languages is an asset.
