Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records, including ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger accounts.
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the creation of budgets and financial forecasts to guide financial planning and decision-making.
Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to management for making informed financial decisions.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, prepare and file tax returns, and provide guidance on tax planning strategies.
Auditing: Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
Expense Management: Monitor and control expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgets.
Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Financial Software: Utilize accounting software and tools to record transactions, manage financial data, and generate reports.
Compliance: Stay up-to-date with financial regulations and compliance requirements and ensure the organization adheres to them.
Financial Advising: Provide financial advice and recommendations to management for improving financial performance and efficiency.
Financial Projects: Participate in financial projects such as mergers and acquisitions, investment analysis, and system implementations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is often preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills to convey financial information to non-finance personnel.
Organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Integrity and a high level of ethics when handling financial information.
