Self-care Consultant

Background:

In this particular context, self-care training involves individuals or groups harnessing knowledge and information to establish processes that empower them to effectively and conveniently manage their own well-being. This training places a strong emphasis on promoting well-being, especially given the increasing prevalence of stress and overwhelming challenges, often compounded by elevated stress levels stemming from workload-related issues.

Objective:

The primary objective of this self-care training is to equip our team with the skills and strategies needed to manage stress, promote mental and emotional health, and improve overall well-being. We aim to foster a healthier work environment and boost team morale through a theoretical exploration of relevant concepts, practical tools for conducting professional self-care assessments, and supplementary resources aimed at enhancing self-care and staff care within a team of care providers.

Within the framework of the livelihood program, the self-care trainer will collaborate closely with the project coordinator. The self-care training is tailored for livelihood staff, with each session accommodating a maximum of 12 participants.

Scope of Work:

The Self-care consultant is expected to perform the following tasks:

  • Conduct an initial self-care needs assessment to understand the current self-care practices, challenges, and the overall well-being of employees, and identify specific areas where self-care support is needed based on the assessment.
  • Develop a customized self-care program based on the assessment findings and organizational goals.
  • Provide a detailed program implementation plan, including timelines and milestones.
  • Deliver a series of self-care workshops for employees, covering topics such as stress management, mindfulness, time management, nutrition, exercise, and emotional well-being.
  • Tailor workshop content to address the specific needs identified in the assessment.
  • Create and provide resources, such as self-care toolkits, guides, and educational materials, to support employees in their self-care journey.
  • Provide progress reports to the management team, including data on participation rates and feedback from employees.
  • Conduct evaluation of the self-care program's effectiveness through surveys, focus groups, or other feedback mechanisms.
  • Adjust the program as needed based on evaluation results to ensure it aligns with organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in clinical psychology, operational psychology, social work or other relevant fields
  • Previous experience in providing self care consultancy or training at a non-governmental organization
  • Excellent problem solver and understanding of how various technology solutions can be leveraged to address health care challenges
  • Proven abilities of organizing self-care groups
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Reporting skills, interpersonal skills, team player
  • Ability to deal with people with tact and diplomacy
