Trainer in public speaking

AND is currently supporting a youth initiative on good governance whereby youth are introduced to the access to information law, public procurement law and municipalities’ law.

Responsibilities:

• Composition of a speech.
• Delivering a speech in front of a live audience.
• Identifying and interacting with audiences.
• Preparing and practicing a speech ahead of time, including researching topics and gathering data.
• Researching topics to create persuasive arguments or informative presentations
• Ensuring that materials are available for reference, such as handouts, visuals, and PowerPoints
• Providing guidance on rules regarding dress code, appearance, and language use, as determined.
• Developing material that will hold audience members’ interest and keep them engaged throughout the presentation
• Using visual aids, such as charts, graphs, drawings, and photographs, to enhance communication of ideas
• Imparting information in an engaging and innovative way.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in communication, public speaking or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 - 3 years' relevant experience in design and training delivery.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong memory skills.
• Ability to engage with community members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect.
• Positive and professional attitude, able to organize.
• Computer literacy.
• Critical thinking and analysis competencies.

Deliverables

The provider of services shall be responsible for the following deliverables.

• Training Syllabus and timetable
• Materials used throughout the workshop and training curriculum.
• Training logistics (attendance sheet, record keeping…).
• Total cost including number of hours and/or days + cost per hours and/or day.
• Appraisal by the end of the training with further recommendations.

Reporting

The trainer shall report to the project manager.
