About Hariri Foundation (HF):

Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development is a Lebanese non-governmental organization with special consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). HF is dedicated to sustainable development across various sectors, including Education & Training, Public Health, Community Support, Urban Development, Environment & Agriculture, and State-Building. The foundation operates in partnership with stakeholders to promote citizen engagement, social cohesion, and community resilience.

 

Project Overview:

The Environment & Agriculture Program at Hariri Foundation will features several projects, central to which is research, planning, and capacity building on Circular Economy (CE) and Sustainable Consumption & Production (SCP). Project activities aim to develop a local SCP/CE action plan and build local awareness in line with Saida city's Roadmap towards an Environmentally Sustainable City in partnership with various international and local stakeholders.

 

Position Overview:

The Environmental Sustainability & Circularity Coordinator will play a vital role in managing and coordinating projects within the Environment & Agriculture Program at HF and across program partnerships. The coordinator will oversee project implementation, stakeholder engagement, research, capacity building, and awareness campaigns, with a strong emphasis on sustainable practices and green skills development.

 

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the implementation of projects the Environment and Agriculture Program.

- Organize meetings, workshops, and conferences related to the projects.

- Produce progress reports and assessments within the context of the projects.

- Coordinate multistakeholder engagement and networking in alignment with the Roadmap of Saida.

- Plan and implement capacity building courses, simulations, and civic engagement programs.

- Lead environmental scientific research and manage partnerships for knowledge exchange.

- Develop and draft local action plans through multistakeholder engagement processes.

- Create localized, inclusive, and accessible tools for sustainable practices in line with the Roadmap.

- Conduct capacity-building sessions for targeted audiences.

- Design and execute awareness raising campaigns to drive lasting behavioral change.

- Undertake other project management tasks as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

- A degree in urban development, urban policy, environmental engineering, environmental sciences, architecture, economics, or a related field.

- 5 to 10 years of experience in relevant professional managerial and technical aspects, especially in the context of environmental, educational, or urban development initiatives and programs.

- Previous experience in project management, preferably in the context of capacity building, civic engagement, or environmental initiatives.

- Strong knowledge of sustainability, green economy, and sustainable consumption and production (SCP) principles.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Proficiency in research and knowledge management.

- Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Experience in designing and implementing awareness campaigns.
