4 qualified Volunteers based in BML Area (Beirut Mount Lebanon)

Job Announcement:

Terre des hommes - Foundation (Lausanne) is seeking 4 qualified Volunteers based in BML Area (Beirut Mount Lebanon), for “UNICEF CP project”.

Within MAKANI, the Volunteer have relevant experience in dealing with children (profiles such as social worker, teachers or primary health care workers) or in working in the area of child protection specifically. volunteer must have good facilitation skills, public speaking and communication skills and be familiar with the targeted areas, and street working children including the local community, population habits and behaviors, public and private stakeholders, focal points or local leaders within the community, concentration of vulnerable population in specific areas. The volunteer will be supported through a package of training that at a minimum includes Child Protection minimum standards and safe identification and referrals, Health and Nutrition, GBV mainstreaming, disability inclusion, outreach, PSEA and QUDWA project.

In local context, the Volunteer will be responsible to conduct direct outreach including street and mobile approach, Walk in, etc and identify the street children need CP services in order to ensure their participation in the drop in centers and magic busses within UNICEF project through:

The volunteers are required to have the following skills:

  • Good communication skills to explain the ideas clearly and persuasively
  • The ability to meet deadlines
  • Follow through the CSP and PSEA ethical obligations

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the identification and coordination of outreach events and activities including qudwa event related to youth, child protection, networking meetings to help connect the community with CP services for both external and internal community members.
  • Assist the peer-to-peer mobilization and enhance the protection of the target group.
  • Work closely with Tdh’s and MS’s staff within UNICEF CP program to receive technical support and guidance.
  • Assist with planning work on weekly and monthly basis in accordance with the Outreach and PSS work plan.
  • Support in preparation of outreach work and conduct frequent outreach visits with identified communities.
  • Help coordinate with local key leaders to hold community events and provide information about the project.
  • Work with local communities to ensure that the project activities have widespread acceptance before and throughout the cycle of the projects.
  • Conduct sensitization and information provision sessions on implemented activities in a participatory and empowering manner.
  • Carry out data collection and surveys through outreach visits.
  • Ensure that all beneficiaries who need further assistance are referred to other relevant services.
  • Assess the needs of individuals engaging in various activities and highlight alarming trends (such as high number of child labor cases, GBV, and many others);

Reports to: BML Area Project Manager

Location/Travel: Beirut Mount Lebanon Area

Working hours: 4-6hrs per day (2 shifts day and night)
