MEAL Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive MEAL plan for the project, including clear objectives, indicators, data collection methods, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Monitor project progress against the project log frame and work plans, identifying and reporting on any delays, issues or risks to the Program Manager.
  • Design and implement project evaluations, including baseline, mid-term and final evaluations, and other research activities as required.
  • Ensure that project data is properly collected, analyzed and reported in a timely and accurate manner, and that it is used to inform project decision-making.
  • Work with the Program Manager and other project staff to develop project reports, including donor reports, that clearly communicate project progress and impact.
  • Provide technical support to project staff on data collection, analysis, and reporting, and ensure that they are aware of and adhere to the project MEAL system.
  • Ensure the collection and analysis of data consider gender and inclusivity, accounting for the diverse needs and perspectives of different groups.
  • Ensure that the project is compliant with donor reporting requirements and that reports are submitted on time.
  • Promote learning and knowledge sharing within the organization and with project partners, ensuring that lessons learned are documented and disseminated.
  • Participate in regular project review meetings with the Program Manager and other project staff to review project progress, identify issues and risks, and develop action plans to address them.
  • Use MEAL findings to adapt project strategies and activities in response to changing circumstances or new information (adaptive management).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience
- Knowledge of MEAL methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Data analysis and reporting skills, using software tools as necessary.
- Knowledge of project management principles and experience in developing and implementing project M&E plans.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
