Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion Consultant

Duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Project Director, the consultant will be responsible for placing the general framework and methodology for the evaluations / assessments. The consultant will also support in preparing research tools, take part in training team members, analyze results, and draft reports.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in conducting studies specific to peacebuilding and social cohesion
• Has taken part in more than ten evaluations with a peacebuilding and social cohesion component in the past five years
• Knowledgeable of the OECD DAC criteria
• Well versed in the design and usage of qualitative and quantitative tools
• Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection
• Experience in designing research and/or MEL methodologies
• Has previous experience in conducting studies for international organizations
• Able to synthesize large data sets to reach conclusions and strategic recommendations
• In-depth knowlege of the Lebanese context and has worked in conflict torn communities in Lebanon

• Higher education degree in Social Science, Political Science, Law, development studies or any related field from a reputable university
• Has excellent writing skills
• Fluent in English and Arabic
