Context & Background

Berytech is a leading organization in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Lebanon, that aims to provide a conducive environment for the creation and development of startups, through incubation, business support, counseling, funding, networking, and company hosting, hence taking part in the economic revival of the country, participating in wealth and job creation, and retaining graduates and high-level skills in Lebanon.  

About ARYAF PROJECT

ARYAF serves Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises operating in food processing, local hospitality, tourism, the restaurant industry, eco-tourism, and Agri-tourism within west Bekaa, Zahle, and South Mount Lebanon.  

The program aims to empower sixty MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) to increase their sales volume, implement a business continuity plan, and provide training to their staff, including youth, women, and disabled individuals.

The program is funded by The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für International Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in partnership with Berytech, within the framework of Strengthening Agriculture, Local Communities and Small and Medium Enterprises project (ACE). 

Background

Baladi Establishment is a social economic enterprise that manufactures agricultural products of local smallholder farmers in Upper Shouf, the Belt of Bisri Valley, and the surrounding areas. The establishment serves as a hub for local agricultural producers and has built a large network of local agricultural producers. Baladi Establishment purchases products from local farmers and processes them into Agri-goods, promoting circular economy practices and green economy approaches.

Scope of Work

The consultancy includes a comprehensive evaluation of Baladi Establishment's current marketing strategies and social media presence, focusing on enhancing demand generation and sales for its diverse range of agricultural products sourced from local smallholder farmers in neighboring regions. The second step is to develop a tailored digital marketing plan, addressing strategies to augment sales and meet the enterprise's objectives. The consultant will execute targeted marketing campaigns, spotlighting the distinctive features of Baladi's products, while amplifying the enterprise's social media presence across pertinent platforms. The consultant will assume responsibility for 1 month managing Baladi Establishment's social media pages, including content creation, posting schedules, responding to inquiries, and setting the tone of voice in alignment with the enterprise's brand identity. Furthermore, the consultant is required to create and deliver a structured social media calendar outlining posting schedules, content themes, and engagement tactics for optimal online visibility. Additionally, the consultant is required to provide customizable templates and resources to streamline content creation, ensuring consistent and engaging communication across Baladi's social media channels. The aim is to foster greater customer engagement, heighten brand recognition, and drive sales through effective marketing strategies and compelling social media content to create demand.

Deliverables
  • Digital Marketing Assessment Report: A comprehensive report detailing the evaluation of Baladi Establishment's current marketing strategies and social media presence, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities, & GAP analysis along with recommendations for improvement.
  • Digital Marketing Plan: A structured plan outlining strategies and tactics to enhance demand generation, boost sales, and achieve the enterprise's marketing objectives.
  • Digital Marketing implementation report: Provide Customizable templates and resources to streamline content creation for social media, ensuring consistent and engaging communication aligned with Baladi's brand identity offering insights on optimizing customer engagement and interaction across various social media channels. The consultant will manage Baladi Establishment's social media pages for a duration of one month, responsible for content creation, posting schedules, responding to inquiries, and setting the tone of voice in line with the enterprise's brand identity leading to enhanced social media presence.
  • Final Report: Highlighting the impact and outcomes of the intervention.
Qualifications
  • Proven Experience in Marketing Strategies: Portfolio for previous and relevant projects.

The consultant should possess a solid background in developing and executing successful marketing strategies, particularly within the agricultural or food industry.

Demonstrated expertise in increasing product visibility, demand generation, and sales improvement would be beneficial.

  • Social Media Management Skills: Proficiency in managing social media platforms effectively, including content creation, scheduling, audience engagement, and analytics interpretation. Experience in amplifying brand presence and engagement across various social media channels is essential.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough assessments and analyze marketing data, including performance metrics, audience behavior, and market trends. Proficiency in using analytical tools to derive insights and make informed decisions is crucial.
  • Strategic Planning and Implementation: Strong capabilities in developing tailored marketing plans aligned with business objectives. The consultant should possess strategic thinking skills to outline and implement actionable plans that drive desired outcomes.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the agricultural sector, particularly in working with local producers, understanding their challenges, and leveraging such insights to design effective marketing approaches. Knowledge of circular economy practices and sustainable agriculture could be advantageous.
  • Track Record of Success: A proven track record of previous successful consultancy projects in improving marketing strategies and social media presence, preferably within similar industries or enterprises.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of Baladi Establishment, being flexible in approach while ensuring adherence to project timelines and objectives

How to Apply
Timeline and Application

The selected consultant is expected to start as soon as possible after selection. The contract duration is 16 weeks 

Candidates should submit the following documents:

  • Technical (maximum two pages) describing the methodology to conduct the work based on the content suggested in the section: “Scope of Work, and Deliverables” elaborating it further.
  • Profile and project references (maximum two pages): A brief explanation of the consultant(s) background should be submitted (CVs shall be included as an annex) along with project references on the topic.
  • Financial Proposal describing the expected remuneration and the proposed period of the intervention divided as per the deliverables listed above.

Documents and proposals must be sent to Procurement@berytech.org by December 17th, 2023, at the latest, with the subject: “ARYAF – Baladi Est. Digital Marketing.”
