Senior Case Worker SGBV PWSN

INTERSOS is a non-profit humanitarian aid organization that works to bring assistance to people in danger, victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. INTERSOS is an independent association which, through its own humanitarian operators, intervenes to effectively answer the needs of people in serious crises situations, mainly in the world's poorest regions, who are suffering, deprived of rights, dignity and essentials goods. It maintains a flexible operating structure. The head office in Italy coordinates, supports and monitors the planned activities in the countries of intervention carried out by decentralized offices.

Job Title     : Senior Case Worker/ SGBV PWSN focal point

Reports to         : Protection Officer

Duty Station      : Marjayoun, Hasbaya and Roving in the South Area

Position Type    : Full Time

 

 

Job Purpose:

 

Act according to the guiding principles of GBV, PwSN and Child Protection case management including: survivor centered approach, respect of confidentiality, prioritize according to safety concerns, ‘do not harm’, ensure a non-discriminatory approach, act according to the best interest of the child, ensure accountability, respect professional boundaries and avoid conflict of interest.

  • Ensure that protection principles are understood, maintained and enforced;
  • Supervise and manage the SGBV/PWSN Case Worker team.

The SCW should be the SGBV/PWSN focal point in the south and should abide by the SGBV and PWSN needs SOPs.

 

 

Generic Duties:

 

  1. Plan/coordinate with the line manager and the Case Workers team; and in high-risk cases, in consultation with protection Manager for the South, to avoid duplication;
  2. Conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of the cases, when needed, and if the child/the survivor/the PoC give her/his consent;
  3. Ensure the provision of emergency cash assistance for the most vulnerable clients, according to the needs of the clients, the agreed criteria and the internal procedures and under the supervision of the Protection Manager and Project Manager;
  4. Be available to participate in meetings and trainings in and outside the centers including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required;
  5. Deliver trainings to the case workers as needed and required, act as a referral focal point, and answer to help line.
  6. Report on GBVIMS.
  7. Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisor or the PM.

 

 

 

Monitoring and Reporting

    1       Provide daily and weekly updates to the Case management officer and/or Protection Manager about new cases assessed as per internal rules;

    2       Elaborate on a monthly basis assessment, monitoring tools and send all case management documents to the managers each month;

    3       Elaborate and send the weekly report to the managers.

    4       Collect the data about cases assessed and assisted by case workers in her/his team to update the internal online case management platform (weekly and monthly reporting);

    5       Ensure the effective filing of cases, GBVIMS and other reporting;

    6       Update and report service mapping to PM and Reporting Officer.

 

 

 

 

 

Specific Duties:

 

(Can be adapted to the particularities of the job location and the requirement of the project. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired).

 

    1       Monitor and assist the caseworker(s) in the safe spaces and provide evaluations;

    2       Ensure a proper handover to the caseworker(s) when on leave, including a clear plan and division of tasks, approved by the Protection Coordinator;

    3       Review the cases submitted to the online platform by the caseworkers and to make sure that everything is submitted on time and correctly;

    4       Collect cases weekly from OVs to submit to the OV Coordinator;  

    5       Collect the data about cases assessed and assisted by case workers in her/his team to update online case management system for weekly and quarterly reporting;

    6       Conduct assessments of protection cases for inclusion in cash assistance programs.

 

Outreach and community-based activities:

    1       Coordinate with other organizations and internally to organize and plan awareness raising sessions;

    2       Support the work of the outreach volunteers (OVs) in identifying and referring protection cases and work with the OV Coordinator when necessary, to collect information and plan activities and meetings;

    3       Support the organization of specific events or activities inside or outside the centers     

    4         Support the Outreach Volunteer (OV) program, including assisting the OV Coordinator when events and meetings take place in the center.

 

 

Education:

 

  • University Degree in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent.

Professional Competencies:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Reporting skills.
  • Driving License issued since more than 2 years
