Business Development Officer

The Nawaya Network is an NGO based in Beirut, Lebanon that develops the income-generating opportunities of youth through entrepreneurship, employability, and economic development programs.

We are seeking a Business Development Officer to fulfill the below tasks and responsibilities:

 

Market Analysis:

- Analyzes market trends, and evaluate competitive landscapes with the aim of identifying potential areas of collaboration.

- Offers strategic recommendations to the NBSC, in regards to meeting specific market demands or filling identified market gaps related to the construction industry, e.g. enhancing operational efficiency, streamlining processes, or implementing new technologies.

- Identifies industry trends and business opportunities, and pinpointing the relevant target audiences for these opportunities.

Proposal Development:

- Prepares presentations that effectively showcase our Unique Selling Proposition (USP) with the oversight and approval of the Program Manager

- Collaborates with the NBSC team to develop customized solutions that are aligned with the NBSC mission and standards.

Lead Generation:

- Identifies and qualifies prospective clients through networking and outreach efforts, and understands their specific needs ; this needs to be intensifed in Q1 to Q3 2024

- Conducts meetings with these qualified clients to promote and offer NBSC services, emphasising the value proposition and the quality of the solutions offered.

- Collaborates with the Tafawok Program Manager and Swisscontact Program Manager to conduct follow-up meetings with potential clients, fostering further discussions to solidify collaboration or finalize agreements.

Building and Maintaining Client Relationships:

- Conducts meetings with clients to strengthen and maintain strong relationships with the end purpose of actively participating in helping the BC to generate revenues.

- Engages proactively with clients to address concerns, understand ongoing needs, and provide continuous support and advice.

Monitoring Performance and Results:

- Assesses the effectiveness of implemented business activities by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking progress against established goals.

- Provides regular updates to clients, keeping them informed of progress and results, and make necessary adjustments to strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

 

Education:
Bachelor Degree in Management with a strong experience in the construction sector, or degree in Architecture/engineering.
Master in Business Administration is a Plus.

Experience:

  • Experience in the construction sector for 3 to 5 years, area of Tripoli is a plus
  • Good knowledge and experience in the private sector.
  • Having an established network of SMEs, companies and NGOs is important.
  • Experience of working successfully in hostile environments or under difficult operational circumstances.
  • Work experience in a NGO is a plus.
