Orthopedist

Amel Association International (Amel) is a Lebanese and non-sectarian NGO created in 1979. Amel works through 27 centers, 6 mobile medical units, 2 mobile education units, and 1 protection unit, and for more than 40 years has supported the poorest regions of Lebanon, from Beirut and its South Suburbs to Mount Lebanon, Bekaa and South Lebanon. Amel offers accessible services for all in the following fields: food security, health, education, protection, child protection, gender-based violence, livelihood, promotion and protection of human rights, and rural development.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled orthopedist to join our primary healthcare center. The orthopedist will be responsible for providing expert care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and treating orthopedic issues, as well as a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough examinations of patients to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions, including fractures, sprains, strains, arthritis, and other orthopedic issues.

2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, which may include prescribing medications, recommending physical therapy, .

3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as primary care physicians, physical therapists, and radiologists, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.

4. Attend all training and development activities requested by Amel Health department.

5. Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, and the importance of rehabilitation and injury prevention.

6. Use of Phenics software to accurately document medical records for all patient encounters.

7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the primary healthcare.

Qualifications:

1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.

2. Specialty degree in Orthopedics from an accredited medical school.

3. LOP medical license and specialty registration

4. Strong clinical skills and the ability to effectively diagnose and treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.

6. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

7. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up to date on best practices.
