MICROBIOLOGIST – CONSULTANT

The Microbiologist Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Monitor microbiological analyses on water samples, to identify and quantify microorganisms.
• Implement and oversee quality control and assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of microbiological testing methods and results.
• Stay informed about and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing microbiological practices in the respective industry.
• Conduct risk assessments related to microbiological hazards and provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
• Provide expert advice on microbiological issues, laboratory practices, and quality management.
• Analyze microbiological data and prepare comprehensive reports, documenting findings, interpretations, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with professionals from other disciplines, and develop comprehensive solutions whenever needed for the project.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement under the project framework

The Microbiologist Consultant should have an excellent understanding of the Lebanon context, and preferably a solid working experience in the country (in-person or remote). 

REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTION

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:

Your knowledge, experience & skills:

• Ph.D degree in microbiology, water industry is a plus
• Relevant certifications in microbiology or related fields
• Over 5 years of experience in the related field.
• Proven experience in quality assurance for data-driven deliverables with, at times, short deadlines.
• Proficient in a wide range of microbiological techniques, including sample collection…
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex microbiological data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations based on findings.
• Demonstrated ability and/or willingness to work simultaneously on multiple tasks, under tight deadlines, provide real-time data points and analysis with accuracy under pressure.

Additional skills:

• Excellent command in written and verbal English and Arabic is required.
• Strong attention to detail, as well as organizational and communication skills.
