Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

The M&E consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Conduct an initial assessment of project/program goals, objectives, and indicators.
  • Develop a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (MEP) in consultation with project stakeholders.
  • Design and implement data collection tools, including surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and participatory methods.
  • Establish a data management system to ensure the timely collection, analysis, and reporting of project data.
  • Monitor project activities and outputs against established indicators and targets.
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to verify data quality and collect qualitative information.
  • Analyze monitoring data to assess progress towards project objectives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project evaluations, including baseline, mid-term, and end-of-project evaluations.
  • Prepare comprehensive M&E reports and presentations for project stakeholders, including donors, government partners, and implementing agencies.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building support to project staff on M&E concepts, tools, and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and project reporting deadlines.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTION

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:

Your knowledge, experience & skills:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing M&E systems for development projects, preferably in Environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with experience in producing high-quality written reports and presentations.
  • Familiarity with digital data collection tools and M&E software preferred.
  • Knowledge of donors reporting requirements and standards.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as law, political science, public policy, international relations, governance or a related discipline. A Master’s is a plus.

Additional skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues to diverse audiences effectively.
  • Experience in building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
