The Junior Accountant will assist the Finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and preparing financial reports. The role involves supporting various accounting functions to ensure compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries for routine transactions
Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports for payment.
Generate and send suppliers and consultants invoices promptly.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Compile financial data and support documentation for internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with organization policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Assist in implementing internal controls to safeguard organization assets and prevent fraud.
To perform daily tasks, use accounting software.
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of accounting systems and processes.
Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary information and support accounting operations.
Provide assistance and support to colleagues as needed.
Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Prior experience (1-2 years) in accounting in Non-Governmental Organizations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs.
