FPSS (Focused PSS)

 
1 - Planning and implementation responsibilities

• Facilitators will commit to attend all workshops required before the implementation.

• Implement the sessions in line with the curriculum and workshop, on a periodical manner and evaluate each session with the children.

• Revise sessions according to each feedback/evaluation and constantly adapt approaches and exercises with the Technical PSS Officer.

• Ensures FPSS is delivered in line with global minimum standards and national PSS committee and Child Protection working group standards.

• Provide remote delivery of duties if required.

• Ensure that all activities are done in an appropriate location in line with minimum standards.

• Document all necessary feedback and provide regular monitoring report to the Technical PSS Officer and the Project Manager on the progress of children.

• Ensure that all children and caregivers are aware of any Feedback and complaint mechanism.

 

2- Facilitation responsibilities

• Ensure the use of good facilitation skills that make the children feel comfortable and enhance their participation and personal development.

• Create a safe space where participants can voice their opinions, thoughts and emotions, share experiences and brainstorm on solutions in a confidential and respectful manner.

• Ensure participation of children in the program in a non-discriminatory as well as age and gender sensitive and appropriate approach, and make sure that they not exposed to any harm or stress.

• Respect and Abide to the organizations internal code of conduct and child protection/safeguarding policy.

 

3- Reporting and Referring

• Ensure the safe identification and referral for children and caregivers in need of further specialized/non-specialized services.

• Report all Adverse Events and Serious Adverse Events in accordance with the reporting procedure for the organization and for the study.

• Update child protection technical officer of any new developments to the cases referred.

 

4- Other duties

• Represent War Child Holland, when requested and is necessary.

• Provide needed information during operational and financial audit during audit of projects.

• Attend and participate in local and capacity building events as needed.

• Work within a team and have a professional and ethical attitude towards all involved.

• Use feedback provided by PSS Technical Officer to improve practice.

• Attend and participate in reflection meetings when needed.

 

Education and Experience:

• University Degree – Bachelor Degree

• Education field: Social work, Psychology, or other Social sciences

 • At least 2-years’ experience providing PSS or Focused PSS programs to children, preferably medium to high risk children.

Required skills:

 • Very good knowledge of the region and its challenges.

 • Excellent knowledge of child protection, GBV and PSS principles.

• Excellent knowledge of child development.

• Good knowledge of psychosocial first aid skills.

• Language: Fluency in Arabic is required.
