Food Security Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the relevant unit, encompassing project management and implementation, including security, procurement, fieldwork, project monitoring and evaluation, financial management, progress and financial reporting, as well as project communication and coordination.
  • Supervise project staff to ensure the efficient execution of their respective duties and promote effective team functioning, including conducting regular meetings, both in-person and online, and organizing training sessions and retreats.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tools for core sectors to integrate beneficiary participation approaches throughout the program, ensuring alignment with proposal targets and enhancing beneficiaries' food security levels.
  • Prepare various reports, including monthly progress reports, surveys reports, gender analysis reports, food safety reports, and situation assessment reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with donor requirements.
  • Provide leadership in advocating project objectives, coordinating with NGOs, conducting periodic project data monitoring, and ensuring stakeholder awareness of project activities and goals.
  • Maintain transparency and accountability within the project team and with donors through regular meetings and communication channels.
  • Lead the development of work plans, workshops, and periodic work sessions for the project team, incorporating gender mainstreaming and protection sector strategies.
  • Establish and maintain proper paper filing systems for project documentation, including Daily Workers timesheets, material requests, payment requests, and staff contracts.
  • Develop new project proposals based on lessons learned, needs assessments, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Represent the organization in sector meetings, working groups, and external relations, fostering collaboration and contributing to broader initiatives.
  • Report directly to the Program Coordinator on project progress and any relevant issues.
  • Implement food security project activities and manage beneficiary engagement.
  • Lead and manage staff, providing feedback and organizing trainings.
  • Ensure work plans align with project objectives and oversee budgeting.
  • Engage with beneficiary communities and stakeholders for program acceptance.
  • Facilitate procurement and services transparently.
  • Conduct inspections and follow up on identified issues.
  • Lead training sessions and coordinate project messaging.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and utilize data for future programming.
  • Maintain communication with beneficiaries and monitor referral cases.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders and adhere to humanitarian principles while prioritizing safety.
     

    Minimum Skills, Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Security or other related subjects.
  •    Computer literate
  • Fluent in English, Arabic and French Languages.
  • Excellent Communication and Email writing Skills.
  • Highly organized, dedicated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks and to work under stress to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced teamwork spirit and skills, and ability to establish and maintain working relations
