Social Worker

Position’s mission:

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the social worker is responsible for leading, planning, and conducting inclusive initiatives with the community.

Reports to: Inclusive Education - Project Manager

Interacts with: 

Internally: The Project Manager and the project team; The support services staff

Externally: The project partners; Local and International NGO; Local service providers

Others stakeholders in the related field in the project area of implementation

Missions / Responsibilities

Responsibility 1: Contribute to the development of tools for the project implementation and to the capacity building of the project team and partners.

  • Participate in the selection and contextualization of the modalities of intervention in compliance with HI technical framework.
  • Contribute to the development and/or adaptation of methodologies and to the development of technical tools
  • Organize and/or participate to the testing of the tool whenever appropriate and adjust them according to the results of the test
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the team during tools use including field coaching
  • Train project partners and relevant actors and stakeholders on the methodologies and tools.
  • Produce training and coaching reports and coordinate feedback with the service providers for strengthening continuous staff development

 

Responsibility 2: Support the implementation of project activities.

  • In collaboration with the technical officers and under the project manager’s supervision, the social worker will conduct Community Engagement Initiatives
  • The social worker/ animator will map out, identify and engage with stakeholders (schools and communities) to conduct Social and Behavior Change (SBC) activities
  • The social worker/animator will be responsible in close coordination with stakeholder’s focal points to organize and plan activities

Develop communication material and organize the events

  • The animator will be responsible for developing inclusive material in close coordination related to different events such as: creating visibility items, creating leaflets, organizing social activities (municipality, women in the communities…)

Data collection and its monitoring:

  • Report on activities conducted and, reflect on lesson learning.
  • Ensure data collected is accurate, complete and consistent;
  • Collect, analyze and disaggregate data by disability, gender, and age
  • Work in harmonic coordination with all teams’ members
  • Timely inform your line manager of your weekly needs and produce the related documentation
  • Range all the open files in order and respect confidentiality
  • Participate in the different activities that are common to all team members
  • Ensure internal standards and guidelines are respected
  • Fill daily with precision the internal reporting tools (weekly report, donation certificate) and any other reports to be made upon line manager request
  • Complete an evolution note after each intervention done

 

Note that this job description must remain flexible, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager.

Education:

  • Essential: University degree in social work or related degree

Experience:

  • Essential: At least 3 years of experience as Social Worker
  • Essential: Experience in community Engagement approach and Initiatives
  • Desirable: Experience with NGOs.
  • Desirable: Social work experiences with persons with disabilities on their education and/or rehabilitation issues would be an assets

Skills:

  • Essential: English and Arabic mandatory (oral and written),
  • Desirable: French.
  • Desirable: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, especially Excel, Word and Power Point.

Basic salary ranges for the position: Social Worker IE is going to be paid according to the experience and to HI salary Grid.

Basic Salary range between USD 1600- 1800 USD
